Kathy, I realize this post is pretty old now, but wondering if you found an answer. My grt gf Wm. I. Cogburn was raised in Merkel, Taylor Co, and then raised his family there. We have some info on his mother's side but his father had died in Ark prior to Wm's birth and we've had no luck. Someone had said his father's name was W. J. and then later someone saw a Rose Hill Cem listing of a W. J. Cogburn though this of course should not be him; could be a relative and a clue for us as well as this Sarah now I see you were trying to locate. We didn't know of any Cogburn relatives of Wm in that area but there sure could have been some. Maybe Sarah and W. J. even tied in. Thank you for your time if you're still out there. Sandra

I've been told recently there is a W. J. Cogburn buried at Rosehill; I can't find that indexed nor can the other person now. Could someone help us find the site and/or best yet tell us who he was. My grt gf Wm. I. Cogburn was raised in Merkel by his mother Luisa White Cogburn Whisenhunt and step father Adam Whisenhunt; they are buried at White Church. The Cogburn line has been a brick wall; Wm's father died before he was born and we've found nothing on him and his family. Wondering if this W. J. might be a clue to some of the family. Thank you.

Your reply to Andrea was exciting - Flora and Dora are my grandfather's sisters. Would love to hear more about them.

Might be Alice Ada Cogburn that was married to Michael Jason Cogburn in Pike County Arkansas?
