Hi, in my search for family, I have found a William Smyley Rotton. He was the son of John Rotton Sr..John Sr, married Mary, she was born in 1776. I am still in South Carolina and have found several different ways that our last names are spelled. Including: Roton, Rotton, Rhoten and Rauten. This William S Rotton was born in 1849. I am not possitive that this is who you are looking for but would like to know anything you can offer me. He had brothers named: Eliza Rotton, Benjamin Rotton, John Jr, and Willis Rotton, his sisters were named : Louicy, ?? Nancy, ?? Nancy and Elizabeth. Yes there are 2 Nancy Rottons listed. Many of our relatives are buried at Shiloh Church in Saluda, SC, Silverstreet Churh in Silverstreet SC, West End Cemetary in Newberry and at least one in St. Lukes Church Cemetary in Newberry County.
I hope this helps and hope to hear from you soon.
Donald H. ( Donnie ) Roton
