Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
There are two new alerts about new computer worms/viruses circulating.
Here is Norton's descriptions of them:
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.beagle.ag@mm....http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.mydoom.l@mm.html
Reminders: Make sure you have anti virus software, keep it up to date.
If you didn't get new definitions yesterday, get on line and make sure
you update your definitions to include the two above. If you are using
windows and/or outlook mail program, go to the windows website and sign
up for automatic updates...if patches are needed, the program will
automatically update your computer.
Don't open attachments unless you already know what's in them.
PS If you hear of new virus/worms, before alerting the list, please ask
me first, thanks. I WILL SEND IT
