Some of Joseph Cogan who was first married to Leah Clark and then to
Margaret Maple, Jacob R, who was known as Reese, Harvey W, who I am guessing
is listed as Wilson in his obituatuary from May of 1929, Caroline born in
1863 had a married name of Woods, Jane (Possibly Wanda J, who married a Kail
and a Mrs John Woods, who I am not sure but maybe Margaret or Sarah. I have
talked to some folks at the Carrol Co, Geneological Society and one of the
ladies grew up next door to the Jacob Reason(Reese) Family,

I have an obituary for a Leonard Cogan who was the son of Jacob and Margaret
Woods, would this be the Jacob Reason born in 1855, >
and know the confusing part,
Jacob R. born in 1855 was married to Sara N. Wood they had three children:
Clarence, Leonard and Erma who married a Shotwell.
Sarah Cogan's parents were George and Elizabeth Wood she was born in Perry
Twp, Carrol County 24 Feb 1868, and passed away on 28 Nov 1926 they were
married Oct 6, 1886.
An Amzi Cogan, is listed as the father of Ira P. Cogan, Ira had two brothers
Howard Cogan, Allen Cogan, and three Sisters, Cora Boone, Myrtle Dale, and
Pearl Pfouts. Ira and Carrie (Pearson) Cogan had 14 Children, Clyde, Ethel
(Barrier), Orator, Carl, Emerson, Dwight, Lester, Mabel, Oleta, Zelma,
Helen, Oliver, Verda and Dalton.
I am leaning toward two Cogan, families in Tusc/Carroll Counties. Or maybe
Amzi Cogan needs more research.

New Links
You should always check to see what's new on our website. I usually
flag new links for a couple of weeks. To see what's new so far in
July, do Ctrl-F and enter "7/" and you will find neat stuff like the
new index to the Belfast Newsletter 1737-1800. I've been waiting at
least two years for them to finish that project. The first day we
had it linked a member found mention of his ancestor who fought in the
Battle of Culloden. The Belfast Newsletter, by the way, can be viewed
on microfilm at the Boston Public Library. And don't be put off by
the name Belfast in the title. This was a paper that carried news from
all parts of Ireland.
