Gertrude (Majchrzak) Coffman
Gertrude passed away on June 2, 2011.
in Sun City, Ariz.
at the fabulous age of 85.
She was born October 24, 1925 in Erie, Pa.
to Clara & Walter Majchrzak.
Gertrude died as she lived, with dignity, pride and an unbelievable strong will. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She was preceded in death by her loving husband and soul-mate, Robert V. Coffman, Sr. in 1975.
She also said farewell to her parents;
her sister, Elizabeth Achtabowski; great grandson, Connor Schindler and several close friends and family members during her 85 years of life. Gertrude is survived by her four children: two daughters, Patricia Myers and Julie (Harold) Wright, both from Sun City, Ariz. and two sons, Robert Jr. (Janet) Coffman of Surprise, Ariz. and William (Linda) Coffman of Ohio. She is also survived by her baby sister, Clara Martin of Michigan. Many more will miss her including her 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and close friends. Gertrude worked and retired from Hammermill Paper Company with over 25 years of service. She was an active member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Erie, Pa. Gertrude was known for her strong passion to knit at home and at work. She was very generous to share her knowledge of the craft with many friends at Hammermill and family who wanted to learn. We will all miss Gertrude and we will be saying our Goodbye to her at a graveside ser!

Maurice Fred Coffman, 92, of Sebring, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 29, 2011, at Neighborhood Hospice in West Chester. He had been a resident of Sunrise Assisted Living in Paoli for the past 5 years, and lived in Chester County since 1976. He was the husband of Dorothy Yoder Coffman for 65 years, prior to her death in 2006. He was also preceded in his death by his parents Maurice Coffman and Virginia King, and his brother James Clark Coffman. Fred, a Lieutenant Commander in the Navy during WWII, left the service and began working for the Erie Railroad in Cleveland, Ohio, which became the Erie Lackawanna Railroad in 1960 and was then part of the formation in 1976 of Conrail, headquartered in Philadelphia from which he retired in 1981. He was a member of Grove United Methodist Church, of West Chester. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing bridge. Fred was a proud member of the Sons of the American Revolution. He is survived by his sister, Mary Jane Smail of A!
lliance, Ohio; three children, Daniel Maurice Coffman of Chesterton, Ind., Sara Jane Coffman of West Lafayette, Ind. and Emily L. Richardson of Garnet Valley; and five grandchildren, John Coffman, Lauren Zielsdorf, Nicholas Richardson, Matthew Richardson and Zachary Richardson. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 3, at Grove United Methodist Church, 490 W. Boot Road, West Chester. Interment will be private and will be in Sebring, Ohio later in June. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Salvation Army.
