In the past couple weeks, I have been researching this family in as much detail as possible. As you likely know, they moved around alot and split up and then rejoined each other in other years.
I have located all 4 children of William R. Coffman and Lydia Ayres Coffman Soliday. Of specific interest to my research is their daughter Ethel. Ethel was married twice, had one child, and died by the time she was only 17 years old. (Suicide actually according to the newspaper reporter)
I am trying to locate the family in 1910. William and Lydia were split up and Lydia had "remarried" and was widowed by 1910. I found Charles (son) in Oldham County, Ky. I found Lydia in Tipton county, IN. I can not find Ethel, James Elzie, or Alice or (Dad) William in 1910.
Working backwards - In Ethel's 1913 marriage application to Earl Ele in Michigan, Ethel claims to be living with her father in Elwood, IN. In 1912, she gave birth to her son (James Elzie Finley) in Bloomington, Monroe county, Indiana. In 1911, she married William Finley in Monroe county. In 1900, she was listed in the census with her mother and father and her 3 siblings in Floyd County, Indiana. I have nothing for her between 1900 and 1910. The info from the 1910 census will be very important to my research project.
I have more details and references to share. If you are still out there and have since located these folks - I would love to share notes!
Angel
