Mary Jane and Henry were my husband's great-great paternal grandparents. My husband's grandfather was adopted by George W. and Lula Coffman. He was born Richard Earle Stevick and later his name was changed to Richard Coffman. His birthdate was Dec 13, 1922. We are looking for any information on who is biological grandparents may be, and any other information about the Coffman family. email katecoffman(a)roadrunner.com

George W Coffman, married to Lula was my husband's paternal (adopted)grandfather. We do not know he came about being adopted by George and Lula as they were about 60 when he was adopted. My husband's father was born Richard Earle Stevick, but the 1939 census lists him as Richard Coffman. If anyone has any information about who Richard's mother and father might be, we would love to know. We assume he may have been their grandson, and that one of their daughters married a Stevick...

Lula and George adopted my husband's paternal grandfather, Richard Coffman. I believe Richard was born Richard Earle Stevick. We have no idea how they ended up adopting him, or who his mother was. We assume his mother was one of Lula and George's daughters who had married a Stevick. If anyone has any information, we would love to hear about it. We are also trying to get in contact with the other children of Richard Earle Coffman. He had a son William and another son Richard. Richard had a wife Meriam (?) and lived outside of Pittsburgh.
