Hello -
Hoping this reply reaches you as I am responding to your 2001 message board posting.
Death certificate of my great grandfather, Wilson "Willis" Coffman, shows his father as Michael Coffman and mother as Hannah Rice both born in OH. Wilson was born in 1853 and died in 1932.
Do we have a family connection? Were you ever able to find out any further info on Michael & Hannah?
Look forward to your reply.

Thanks;
I do know that Walkers married Coffmans in Jefferson County, TN... Also, that Gm Nancy Walker was born in the same area in VA, South and West of present day DC, where the Coffmans migrated from, as well as the Lovell, Marshall, Markham, Sherwood, and other related Families.

Gerry,
You might look at Group#2 in the Walker DNA results (specially #35493) to see if the William Cannon Walker, that married Rebecca Coffman in 1816, has a sister or cousin named Nancy. I believe that WCW's mother was named Nancy Cannon! It was not uncommon for several brothers & sister to marry into the same families. Google << dna walker familytreedna >> then look under "Results", then scroll down to group #2. It's a shot in the dark, but they were in the Jefferson Co., TN about the same time.
I'm in Group #7 of that listing, but my Coffman line is from David H > Lovell S. > Lovell J. > James Alfred. That line seems to have fallen thru the cracks in the earlier publications, but now I have it compiled & well documented.
Hope this gives you some more info & connections.
Lary Walker

The Mennonite Historical Society of Lancaster PA sells a book on Coffman/Kauffman lineage about 600 pages. Cost in Hardback used to be $65 Postage...anyway it says that David Harmon Coffman's father was Johan Andreas Kauffman.
You mention Walker. Do you have any info on the Walkers in TN. Nancy Walker married Jacob Maryon Coffman, second son of David and Mary Ann (Lovell) Coffman in 1799. Jacob and Nancy were my ggg-grandparents.

Hello Researchers,We have a Charles Clarence COFFMAN, b. May 1832, PA; he was a Cooper - barrel maker. At this point in time he is an enigma. Where in PA he was born is unknown at this time, as are the names of his parents and siblings, b. PA.His migration from PA appears to have been into WV; with a possible stop in MD first is unknown, his older children were born in Morgan Co, WV, the youngest born in Garrett Co, MD, ultimately settling in Mineral Co, WV, where he and his family remained, and died.If Charles Clarence COFFMAN, is a member of your Coffman / Kauffman family that were Coopers/Barrel Makers, please, any information you can share would be a tremendous help and very much appreciated.Charles' youngest son David Henry COFFMAN, b. c. 1877, Accident, Garrett Co, MD.
