Does anyone out there have a Jacob Coffman who married Katherine Myers in VA. Katherine was born in 1818 in VA. Her father was John Myers.
I don't know when or where Jacob was born.
Don Myers
I believe that she is still living...I saw her a couple of years ago at the
NE Texas Coffman reunion in Blossom TX, (mostly the descendants of brother's
Lovell and James Coffman, sons of Jacob Maryon Coffman of TN)... I have
the same problem with her e-mail address but maybe someone will see it and
let us know. Michelle has teen-age children...and her husband is a MD...I
think they live in CO...

Hi everyone:
I'm one of the administrators of the Kauffman DNA
Project. The project has been very successful thus
far in testing dozens of individuals with the surname
"Kauffman" or variant thereof (Kaufman, Kauffmann,
Coffman, Caufman, etc). As a result, we have been
able to verify - and disgard- a number of Kauffman
genealogies.
Many of our results have appeared in publications by
Masthof Press, including the revised edition of "Amish
and Amish-Mennonite Genealogies," considered a huge
authority on Amish and Amish-Mennonite lineages.
We continue to seek participants from all
Kauffman-surnamed individuals. I know, for instance,
that no male descendant of Isaac Kauffman, who appears
in Charles Fahs Kauffman's ("CFK") immense genealogy,
known as "A Genealogy and History of the
Kauffman-Coffman Families of North America" as "B"
(Isaac Kauffman who died 1738 and married Elizabeth
Unknown) has yet been tested. He is believed to be
the brother of Andrew Kauffman who married Elizabeth
Kneissle.
In addition, two different Jacob Kauffman lineages
really need to be tested. A small group of
genealogists studying these lines now seeks male
descendants of the following two lineages:
1. Jacob Kauffman who appears in CFK's book on page
680. He died in about 1804 and is said to have come
to Philadelphia on the ship "Phoenix, in 1749, with
two brothers, perhaps named Christian and Joseph.
They all settled in Upper Berne Twp, Berks Co., PA.
Jacob's children were Joseph, Valentine, Philip, Adam,
George and Anna Maria.
2. Jacob Kauffman, who appears in Gingerich &
Kreider's book, "Amish and Amish-Mennonite
Genealogies," listed as "KFB". He was Amish and is
believed to have married Anna Mast. Children were
Mary, John, Barbara, Jacob, Joseph, David, Anna and
Veronica.
If you are a descendant of either of these two
lineages, I would appreciate it if you could contact
me off-list at "ellenlevy66(a)yahoo.com." Your help is
greatly appreciated.

Dear William,
I have been so busy making arrangements for a Miller reunion in Colorado
the first week of August that I really haven't tried to find out about the
Coffman Family. I am not sure any of your group and I are related but
thought I would check with you.
The first ancestor I have found was John Nicholas Coffman born in
Shenandoah, Va., then his son Daniel Coffman also born there who had a son
named Daniel with a wife named Julia Catching. They were the parents of my
great-
grandfather Isaac Coffman married to Sarah Ann Gillespie, both born in
Kentucky.
If anyone is related, I do have pictures of Isaac and Sarah Ann and would be
glad to share the information I have.
I live in Austin, Texas.
Hope you all have a great reunion!

It is time for our Coffman Family Reunion.
*Date: July 14, 2007*
*Time: 10:00 Arrival; Lunch at Noon*
*Place: Community Center, Blossom TX *(same as last year)
We have a lot of information for you concerning the reunion.
For accommodations, the *Hampton Inn, *Paris, TX* *has 15 hotel rooms on
hold. The room rate is $76.50 for a double queen. Please call the
Hampton at the following phone number: 903-784-6536 and ask to book one
(or more) of the reserved rooms for the Coffman Family, July 13^th (and
14^th if you are attending the Bluff Cemetery Reunion on Sunday as
well). Let them know if you would like one night or two. Please make
your reservation by July 6^th - any remaining rooms will be released.
The reservation number is: *_84751517_*.
If you are interested, we will be getting together on Friday evening
July 13^th at 6:30 pm at *The Fish Fry* in Paris for dinner (across the
highway from the hotel). Everyone buys their own. Let Shelly know so
we can make reservations.
We would like everyone to bring a *covered dish*, especially if you live
within a few hours. We are all interested in tasting some of your
favorite recipes. However, if you are traveling a distance, pick up
something locally for your "covered dish" such as potato salad,
ready-made salad & dressing, or fried chicken. Hopefully we'll have
left-over's we can take to the Bluff on Sunday. The plates, napkins,
plastic-ware and cups, as well as the ice and soft drinks will be
provided and already there.
There is a *Coffman Reunion 2007 T-shirt* available for purchase at
$8.00 per shirt. If you would like to order any please let Shelly know
how many and specific sizes by June 24, 2007.
We hope everyone brings their musical instruments and good voices as
usual. We also hope you will bring any family information you would
like to share. Don't forget to let Shelly know your plans for the Fish
Fry and T-shirts. *This is going to be fun!*
