Someone generously did some research for me and provided me a LOT of information -- some of it my family, some not. Now it's my turn. I do Coffman research but I don't think our families are connected.
There is an Ohio 1910 Census Miracode Index.
This might be a parent:
Name: Charles E Coffman
Birthplace: Ohio
State: OH
Age: 47
Color: W
Enumeration District: 0144
Visit: 0167
County: Summit, Akron
Relation: Head of Household
Wife Viola 38 Ohio (Birthplce)
I also found him in the 1910 census. But he and Viola had no children.
Another search found a Charles E Coffman who born in Aug 1895 so he was 4 at the time. He was born in Ohio,
Name: Charles E Coffman
Home in 1900: Salem, Auglaize, Ohio
Age: 4
Estimated birth year: abt 1896
Birthplace: Ohio
Race: White
There was a Charles Edgar Coffman who enlisted in WWI and was born 26 Aug 1896. Probably same as above. Born in Ohio. And guess what! Born in Mendon Ohio!
He had brown eyes and Dark Brown hair. The name of the nearest relative is listed as Noah Croofman in Concord, Michigan. Now his name is listed at the top also spelled as Croffman but was crossed out with a big huge X. I've never seen Croofman as another spelling for Coffman.
Another name on the card just above Noah's is D. R. Risser at Vaughsville, Ohio. I think this is his employer but am not 100% sure. The Father's birthplace is listed as Virginia.
He enlisted on June 15, 1918. His home address was listed as Rte. 3 Bx 40, Columbus Grove Ohio
I'm going to check a bit further but don't want to lose what I have entered above so will post this now.
I'm excited for you -- you have several places to do research now.
