Last Will & Testament of subject David Coffman executed 12 July 1833, and filed for Probate in Limestone County, AL 31 March 1835, lists minor heir named David Coffman whose birth year would have to have been after 1811.
Kaufman & Coffman Genealogy Book published about 1935, with reprints currently available from The Lancaster County Mennonite Society indicates that the father of David Harmon Coffman (Sr) was Johan Andreas Kauffman (ii) who was born ca1718 and died ca1763 in Lancaster County. About 1742, he married Magdalena Barbara Martin in Lanorth Carolinaster PA. She was born ca1721 in Lancaster County and died ca1799 in Washington, MD.

Linda,
I am a descendant of David Coffman born circa 1803. One set of info has him born
in PA and his wife Elizabeth Ann born in VA. In the 1850 census, he claims to
have been born in VA and Eliza was born in PA (census taker error?). I am looking
for David's father and mother. Any ideas?
tks

I saw your posting about the book "Across the River - Revisited."
Do you know if this book is still in print and the cost and where it could be purchased.
I have a photocopy of from Across the River but need more info and would like to get a hardbound edition if possible . It has a lot on our family history and is interesting as well.
Thanks,
Tim Bear
