I have Coffmans in my family. In my Aunt's pictures I have a picture with
"Aunt Julia, California" written on it (nothing else). Another picture is
of a young girl signed "cousin, Ruth Evans".
Since Julia that you have listed had a husband by the name of Evans I was
wondering if you had a list of children and if there indeed is a Ruth Evans?
This of course, is a very long shot but I have been trying to find out on
which side of the family these people are connected. The other names I am
searching besides Coffman, are Gillespie, Miller, Catching, etc. from Ky,
Tenn., and
they all ended up at one time in Missouri, Kansas and some in California.
If this rings a bell please contact me.

Julia Coffman was born in Missouri according to the census reports. She was married three times and had 13 children. Her husbands are Land/Smith/Evans. I hope this helps you. I am still trying to find out more about her myself and going crazy. I know some of the history of her and she was very young when she travelled to California. I do believe that she is buried in Sonora, California as I was there as a young girl. I am attempting to find the cemetery now as I do not remember where it is exactly.

I am interested in finding any information on a Leroy Coffman, born around 1810 in Kentucky, married first to Dorcas Goshong and then to Alcy Farr. He and Dorcas are listed on the 1880 census with a granddaughter, Rosa Cantrell. I am trying to find out which Cantrell was her father, and am assuming that Mary, her mother must have a Coffman. The census that they were on was in Worth County, Missouri. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Cyndy Moen
