Researchers of decendents to Rhinehart Coffman b; 1783, Grainger County, TN;
may have been perplexed on the whereabouts of his daughter Elizabeth, born
September 6, 1804 in Grainger County, TN. I just stumbled on to some
valuable information the tells where she went. In the book "History of
Clinton County, Indiana" published in 1886; there was a bio for a Peter
Wiles that talks about his second wife's (Sarah E. Hammack) as being the
daughter of William & Elizabeth "Koffman" Hammack. The link is
substantiated with the additional information that Sarah's maternal
grandparents were Reinhart and Elizabeth Koffman. It states that "Mrs.
Wiles's father was born in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, June 12, 1800, and
in 1802 was taken to Granger County, Tennessee, where he was married in 1825
to Elizabeth Koffman, who was born September 6, 1803. In 1832 they removed
thence to Union County, Indiana, remaining there til 1837. They then
settled in Hamilton County, Indiana, where Mrs. Wiles was born January 4,
1842. Her father died in Hamilton County, October 5, 1858, and her mother
August 26, 1870. Her grandparents, James and Elizabeth (Brock) Hammack,
were natives of Virginia of English descent, and her maternal grandparents,
Reinhart and Elizabeth Koffman, were of German descent."

Dearest Coffman Cousins,
Hi to All of you ! I am Terri Brown Jurca. Most of you I met at
the Coffman Reunion in September. A few of you , I regret I missed,
as my sister, Ann England-Hicks, of Sevierville, Tn, and I arrived a
little late. For this we are very sorry! I am writing to issue a personal
invite from ourselves and all our other Coffman cousins to our
Second Annual Homecoming. It will be here in Knoxville (Powell) Tennessee,
on JULY 13-14 2002 at Bell's Campground, Bell's Campground RD.. Same place
we had it last year, and where we met John Idol and the former Miss Jessie
Coffman, and learned about the rest of our Coffman Cousins...
We have among our Bunch of Coffman's ,One in California, One in
Hawaii, One in Texas, AND one in Kansas.....along with my sister and
I and two first cousins in West Tennessee.......all with roots here
in East Tennessee....Knox, Union, Grainger, And Jefferson Counties... ALL
who have worked long and hard wanting to piece this Coffman family back
together....and ALL who want desperately to meet ALL of you... their truly
LONG_LOST COUSINS. !!!! Special Note: Two sister Cousins coming, all the way
from Washington State, near to 3000 miles away. This is truly a homecoming
for us COFFMAN'S and Coffman Cousins.

is plenty of room and bunches of incentive for our Coffmans to find
a place where we can all sit and talk and compare NOTES, and PICTURES, and
FAMILY SHEETS, and BIBLES, which I am ,of course, begging ALL of you to
bring !!!! We want so desperately to find the home place of Andrew Coffman
b/1760 ..... d/ 1845 on the old homestead, we think, that he homesteaded in
1781 in Grainger County, and where we feel sure he is buried...Our far away
cousins want to find his grave and pay their respects to this founder of our
branch of Coffmans..and we will truly appreciate ANY and ALL help you can
give us to accomplish this !!!
We will be looking for all of you on July 13-14, PLEASE do try

dish and a drink. A lawn chair or Blanket. AND most importantly
YOURSELVES , whom we want to meet so badly... One of those days, Sat. Or
Sun., we will have a gospel group to entertain us, though at this time I
can't say for sure which day.. So do PLEASE plan on being here one or both
