Hi Mary, Thanks, I also want to know about Coffman Camp. It's seems no one
knows, that I have found yet. There is no Rock Camp listed in Tenn to be
found. The Cumberland River is not near the Counties you and I seem to be
interested in. If you will help me by putting where born, and dates, by
names below, I will print and ask around. Just to many of same name to i.d.
otherwise. We have a Coffman, named David, b.1787 Tn. come to Polk Co.
Missouri in 1833 to start a Baptist Church. Do not need info, just telling
you about it and was why I asked about Mo. Please follow thur on letter to
Coffman-L, and will write you about Coffman Camp, if I can find out anything
in Person, Regards Zella
Grandfather William Coffman it is said that Harmon,John and Nicholas
removed to Rock
Camp,Cumberland River, Tennessee (I think around 1804) because that seems to
be the time
most of John Nicholas and Mary's family left Virginia. All of the family
except my Great?
Grandfather William who moved

Greetings: This map sure fits in Grainger Co., and all the court records in
court house. But the Creek and River names(?), are not what's on the grant.
Not many road sign's in 1781, nor people to ask: "where am I". I now see no
need to trace down land grant info, as Ernest in e-mail was sending it in
message, and Also Nancy L. Lewis. I now am thur going in Circles, and now
considerate this Coffman Camp (a trading post?) best ediv. that a Coffman
lived there and was probably Andrew K/Coffman,b. 1760-d.1845 Grainger, or a
Coffman from same line. They just got lost in finding and filing for land
grant is our thot. After all it's location is on the s/west side of creek,
creek runs in to the river , only, not names that were on grant. A few head
stones on graves at Coffman, with names listed in stone, sure would be nice
about now. Maybe a trip by this Coffman to Coffman,Tn. will tell. Best
Regards Zella Coffman, May 25th.,2001 in Wichita,Kansas

Hi,
I am looking for the parents of Elizabeth Miller Coffman wife of Abraham
Coffman. Abraham was the son of John Henry Coffman and Hester Bewley.
Thanks,
Martha
After searching for almost two years for a copy of "From Across The River"
by Marjorie Shelton Kent and Cornell Allred, a wonderful cousin I met on
this list, Gary Coffman, generously made me a full copy of the book, which
helped me so very much fill in the gaps about my Coffmans in Texas.
Knowing how much it has helped me, and how impossible it is and will be to
find copies, I contacted the author, Cornell Allred, who has graciously
given me permission to re-typeset, proofread and re-publish the book, so it
can be made available to others in the future.
The full title of the book is:
"From Across The River: A Record of the Legg, Coffman, Shelton and Other
Related Families"
Compiled by Marjorie Shelton Kent and Cornell Prickett Allred
Related families include: Adams, Adkins, Easter, Haney, Sims, Peterson,
Smith, McKinney, Sumners, Arledge, Tindall Spencer and Meals.
I am hoping to have the book ready to release by Fall. Please let me know if
you have an interest in having a copy, so I will have a vague idea of how
many to produce.
Shortly after I produce Cornell's book, I plan to release my own book on my
Coffman ancestry, a chronicle of the descendants of Robert C. Coffman, the
only undocumented son of David Harmon Kaufman, Sr. It has been almost five
years in the making, and has certainly been a labor of love and a delight to
produce. I am hoping to release it by late fall.
Thank you for your help. Your emails gave me the clues to finding Cornell
and making the book available to Coffman cousins in the future. I wouldn't
have wanted to lose all of that information and heritage.

Denver, CO
Not very emails come to me from this list, however, I just thought I
would post for all the new ones on the list. I am looking for a BEULAH
COFFMAN.... name at death was Beulah James... My grandfathers name was
James Reginald Beauton/Busch.
Thank you good person Pattie, You're in, and we will be looking special for
you. We resent the people that are setting down and letting the Coffman-L
list die. If they are going to get our report, They will have to write us
first. Warm Regards Zella Coffman, Wichita

Hi Zella,
I looked in my Expedia Streets and Trips 2000 and didn't find "Coffman
Camp", but the area is mapped. From the Topozone map the location would put
it on Puncheon Creek Road, which runs northwest from State Hwy 131. Do you
have land records that pinpoint the area of Andrew COFFMAN's land grant?
Let me know if anyone has any info on the parents of Rhinehart COFFMAN who
m. Elizabeth WILSON.
Have a Great Trip,
Pattie Hannon
