Dear Coffman and Kauffman list
If you wanted to know about our genealogy roots as much as I'd like to hear
about yours, please read mine and send me your. I bet we have things in
common: Mine in Europe were considered to be Anabaptist and were from
Switzerland, and lands, latter, to be Germany. Their name was
Kauffman and the name stood for Merchant. My people were under orders to be
killed, (manny were of the Mennonite faith and other)and ran to places in
Europe to take passage to America. Lord William Penn was given a large block
of land in The New World for services and money to the Crown. He Invited
these troubled people in Europe to his land in America to be free from
regl.. attacks. Sometime when you read the words on the Stat.Of Liberty in
New York Harbor, You might think the words were written just for these
Penn-Dutch, Then locating in the State Of Penn. A lot of these Mennonites
and others ,chose Landcaster County, Penn., as others that had gotten a way,
were sending monies to Europe for passage for others, to come to Lancaster.
They went thur a type of basic training, and also worked off their ship
fare. My ancestors made it to the new world in 1717.
I have a copy of Royal Orders in Europe to kill all of these people. I am
grieved ever time I read them, And Respectfully Suggest you never forget
what your Ancestors went thur, and our, more or less, Freedom we
have here in America. Your Cousin, Zella Coffman In Wichita, Kansas
"Must Remember History, It Might Repeat It's Self" as it did in Missouri
in the 1840's and the L.D.S. to Salt Lake.

Dear list,
I hope everybody made it thur the Holidays O.K. I'm looking for a Coffman
in Harrison Co. I have found Adam Coffman there in 1866 in the Texas
Marriage Book. It looks like to me Adam just doesn't belong there and wonder
if anyone has his listing in there tree, before I do a big research job on
him. Some of these old boys would run off from a first marriage to Texas,
change names and marry again. I'm wondering if this is the case with Adam.
Thank you, Zella <carl_coffman(a)hotmail.com>
