Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Some people may not know that this book is still "in print."
Its full title is "From Across the River: A Record of the Legg, Coffman,
Shelton and Other Related Families," copyright 1977, compiled by Marjorie
Shelton Kent and Cornell Prickett Allred. Related families include: Adams,
Adkins, Easter, Haney, Sims, Peterson, Smith, McKinney, Sumners, Arledge,
Tindall, Spencer, and Meals.
The "river" is the Elk River in Limestone Co., AL.
You can call one of the original authors:

I forget how much it costs, perhaps $30 postpaid. Cornell has the original
sheets, and she prints it to order when someone wants a copy. It's well
worth the money if you're researching the prolific Coffman and Legg famlies
of Limestone County.

I am looking for THOMAS (Thompson) COFFMAN.
He married Mary WIZER in Casey County, Kentucky, in 1848.
One of their daughters is my Great Grandmother.
This is all I have on Thomas Coffman. Who is his parents, where was he
born any brothers or sisters?
Thank you for your time. Roberta

Dear Coffman researchers:
I just found an interesting site consisting of cemetery inscriptions of
small cemeteries found in Shenandoah Co., Virginia. There are quite a
number of Coffman's listed in the various cemeteries. If you are
researching in this area and missing some birth and death dates, it
would be worth your time to visit:

Enjoy,
Elvina
I must tell you how great it was to go to archives and get the mailings I
missed, when we experienced server problems. It really was very easy.
Everyone should be aware of the archives and their usefullness. Something
else to be thankful to rootsweb for providing for us.
Always searchin',
