Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Thanks for the info.,
I checked the site and they don't offer "History of Friends in N.C." by
Addison Coffin.
I know the librarian at the Danville,IN library has been unable to locate a
copy from other libraries. She found one in N.C. but that lib. wouldn't let
it leave.
Thanks
for your ideas,
Luann

Hi Luann, and Bonnie, also.
I was obtain a copy of the Addison Coffin book, plus other books about
settlers of New England from a bookseller, Paul Redden of Custom
Genealogical Reprints at: www.yesterbooks.com. (At that time, 4 years ago,
he was doing it from out of his home. (My son has also obtained books from
him more recently.) I met Paul, when first doing research on a common
ancestor, the father of my Stephen Hussey of Nantucket.

Alethea & Vestal Coffin descendants,
Western Yearly Meeting of Friends (Quakers) are having their 150th
anniversary in Plainfield, IN this summer. I am on the Celebration Committee. We
are hoping to honor your ancestors then. I have read Addison Coffin's
autobiography. I also understand he wrote a book called "History of Friends in
N.C." I have been unable to locate a copy of this book. He apparently wrote
more about the Underground R.R. in this book.
Does anyone have knowledge of where to find a copy?
Does anyone remember an episode of "The Antiques Roadshow" where someone
was on with a photo of Alethea at her spinning wheel and her actual spinning
wheel? This was before the show started archiving the items on the show. I
don't even know what city it was in.
Any info. about the family would be appreciated!!!
Thanks,
Luann
