Searching for information on John Earl Coffield. He was born 12 March 1907 in Ellis County, Oklahoma Territory to Joseph Clarence Coffield and Bessie Almede Longley Coffield.
Rosalie
Prior to her marriage to Zachariah Coffield, Nancy (my GGgrandmother) (maiden
name Gregory) was married to my GGgrandfather, John Akins, in Cumberland
County, NC. They had 3 children, Sarah, Barbary Ann and James (my
Ggrandfather). John died about a year after James was born and on the 1860
Harnett, Summersville, NC census she was remarried to Zachariah Coffield and
had the 3 Akins children with her. On the 1870 census they were still in
Harnett County and, besides Sarah and James (Barbary had married to Ambrose
Richard Truelove), they had 2 children of their own - Ann C. and Jenette. On
the 1880 census, James was married, living in Hector's Creek, and had Jenette
Coffield (age 14) living with him. Ann was married to Robert Johnson and
living on the next farm as was Sarah, who married John Cotton.
Would anyone know when Zacariah and Nancy died? There does not seem to be
any record of them after the 1870 census. Zacariah was born around 1815 and
Nancy was born around 1825. Also, would anyone know what happened to Jenette
Coffield?
Thank you.

Donna, we corresponded a few times, not recently, regarding Jerrells and our search for a common denominator. I had a tantrum, threw all by Gerelds/Gerralls stuff in a pile on the floor but now my interest level is up again.
Have you found anything interesting in the last year or so you would like to share? I saw a version of the spelling as Jewell recently in addition to 1850 census taker writing made Jerrell look like Jewell when transcribed- the rr looked like a w --.
I wrote Marion Jones yesterday and she responded asked me to reply. Betty
