Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Below is a copy of the material I have on my Coffey family. It is a direct
line back to my oldest ancestor, it does not branch out. I am sending it to
these lists so that you may look it over and let me know if there are any
additions, deletions, corrections, etc. I am looking for anyone who might
have supporting documentation, or knows someone who does. I am in the
process of putting together a booklet for my brother, sisters and their
children so they will know where they came from. I would truly appreciate
any opinions you might have. In the coming weeks (maybe months), I will be
submitting material on other family names, on some of these lists and
possibly others. Thank you all for your help in this project.

PS. This was typed on my wordprocessor and may not fit well on the email
list. As some of you may know, sometimes the tabs and such don't match up.
I tried to fix it as best as I could.

submitted by Mary Verena Miller Magee
Dedicated to the Memory of William Henry and Matilda Catherine Miller
William Henry Miller was the son of Elijah Miller (born in North
Carolina in 1860) and Matilda Catherine Coffey Miller (born in Gosport,
Indiana). They drove a covered wagon from Gosport in 1855 to take a
land grant in Alanthus Grove. Their family consisted of William Henry
Miller, Dr. Lawson Elihu Miller, Sarah Hinkley, Safronia Foxworthy, Ida
Everett, Mary Jane Geralde and Samantha Best, the only one born in
Indiana.
Elijah Miller died in an accident when he was 36 years of age. Later,
Matilda Catherine Miller married Calvin D. Lyman, and they had one
daughter, Hattie. She was married to Thomas Liggett, and they had one
daughter, Elsie. Mr Liggett died and she later married Ira Graham.
William Henry Miller was born December 15, 1862, and died July 15,
1935. He was married to mary Ann Liggett. She was the daughter of
Judge Enoch Liggett and Miss Frances Wilson.
Mr. And Mrs. Miller had seven children: James, Marvin, Merritt, Seth,
Alvin, Walter, and Dewey; four lived to maturity. They had nine
grandchildren: Gaylord, Clarence, Alice, William, Chester, Verena,
Twyla, Marvin, Eugene, and Marveen.
Mr. Miller was president of the Commercial Bank in Stanberry for many
years. He was a large landowner. He was active in Democratic politics,
Masonic Order and Shriner Lodge.
Mr. And Mrs. Miller lived on a large farm north of Stanberry. Later
they moved to Stanberry and purchased a home on the southwest corner of
Park Street and Highway 136.
NOTES:
Mary Jane Geralde is actually Mary Jane Miller Jerauld, b 12 Sept 1856
in MO, d 1886 in CO, married John R Jerauld on 01 Nov 1874, Nodaway
County, MO.
Anyone reasearching these families? I'd love to hear from you!
