I have a record of a marriage between Mary Ann Coffey and Peter Flynn in New

Hi! It seems that there are not too many from the WEst on this list. But I
have a few relatives/ancestors that stayed in the East. They are as follows:
James Donohoe m. Elizabeth FLYNN abt. 1842 children are:
James b. 1843
Charlotte b. 1843
John b. 1845
Elizabeth b. 1846
Andrew b. 1848
Thomas b. 1850
Elizabeth was born in Ireland in 1819, but she grew up, married, and had
children in Canada.
Charles Flynn b. 1834 m. Catherine, bought the rock home and land from his
father, near Huntingdon and stayed in Canada with his family. I do not have a
list of his children.
And then a nun I talked to a few years back, told me that there was Laura
Marie Kelly b. 1891 who joined the nunnery in 1914 and lived in New York who
was a relative of ours. She was Sr. St. Ambrosia and belonged to the Sr. of
the Congregation of Notre Dame in Montreal. She died in 1977. Sr. Ambrosia
was the nun who got in touch with Peter Flynn's wife, Mary, and said they were
related when the nun (that I was interviewing) made a visit to New York in
1948. This may have been Peter Flynn and Mary Ann Coffey.
Maybe someone could connect up through these families. Patty at
jpfeild(a)aol.com or this list.
And there was a Joseph Walsh who had a son named Anthony Walsh, b. 1938 who
lived in Montreal that was a relative.

Hello Cousins,
Over the past month or so a number of new Queries have been entered by
visitors to the Coffey Cousins' Clearinghouse website. I have added a
couple of new text files, a new link or two, and generally cleaned the site
a tad.
I have also added a 'guestbook.' When you visit, please take time to read
current entries, and perhaps enter your own comments.
Be sure and read the Coffey Cousins' Convention info page as well. Time is
getting close for us to start thinking about making reservations, travel
plans and other arrangements to attend. I look forward to personally
meeting as many of you Cousins as possible in Iowa this spring!
Note also that Coffey Cousins' has "won" some awards. They are located near
the bottom of the page. Please check out the genealogy sites that presented
the Award to us.
If you haven't visited in awhile, please check it out and let me know what
you think.
Best Regards!
Jack

I don't think that I have ever heard of Edward Jr. having more than one

The jury is still out on the parentage of Chesley. Take a look at:

Joshua was a son of Peter, and was born Jan 26, 1745. Joshua married
Elizabeth Graves in Hanover Co., VA in 1767. He lived in Prince Edward
Co.,
VA until; 1775 when he moved to Ganville Co., NC. He enlisted in the Rev.
War in 1779, was captured by indians and imprisoned in Detroit. He later
escaped and by 1780 was a captain in a company of mounted North Carolina
militia riflemen. After that, he moved to Rockingham Co., NC where he died
Sep 8, 1797. Two children, John and Mary are mentioned in his will.
Other children of Joshua and Elizabeth are believed to be:
Thomas Graves, b 4 Sep 1769, d 5 Sep 1846, m 10 Jul 1787 to Mary Knight
William, b 20 Sep 1768
Elijah, b 15 Oct 1770
Mary, b 17 Aug 1774, d 28 Apr 1839, Rutherford Co., TN; m 1792 to Simpson
Harris.
Some records cite another son, Joshua M. b Sep 27, 1789 who married Jan 29,
1810 to Jane Trousdale, and was in early 1800's in Smith Co., TN . He
might
be a grandson of Joshua and Elizabeth, however.
The son, John Coffee fought in the War of 1812 in New Orleans, was a
lifelong friend of Andrew Jackson. This John married a niece of Jackson,
Mary Donelson.
After the war, John settled on his plantation. Hickory Hill in Florence
Co.,
AL where he died in 1833. The TN State Archives has tons of information on
John.
Hope some of this helps!
