Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
I thought I'd found all the search engines there were to find. THIS ONE
is GREAT! Thanks for showing us.
Now I have a good one for you. If you are searching for families in
Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota,
Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio or Wisconsin...have you checked out THIS
site?
http://www.glorecords.blm.gov/
The first thing you must do is enter your zipcode. They are tracking
researchers that way. Enter. Then select the state you are researching.
Now, On the next screen, put in the surname you are
searching for under patentees name. You don't have to use a first name.
I'll use Ohio and the name Adair. Go down to the
lower part and hit genealogical search. It will bring up ALL the
Adairs that received land in Ohio.
I'll select Andrew, since he's the first. Now it brings up that he paid
cash, and he went to Lima, Ohio to do it. The lower part shows what you
need to know. Jot down the Sec/Blk (35), the township (7-S) and the
Range (5-E).
You can also see that he was in Shelby County, but you don't really NEED
that. That's just FYI. If you want to see this person's signature, hit
view the document. You can order it as well, if you want. But for the
REALLY fun part...go back to the screen where you input the surname. I
hit the "back" key twice. The first time it says "DATA MISSING". The 2nd
time it comes back. NOW. Go to the lower half of it, and put in the
data. Sec 35, township 7...then select s, range 5 and select 5 and hit
genealogical search. NOW...here are your ancestor's neighbors! You know
they married someone closeby. Chances are THESE are surnames you are
familiar with! And hopefully, the FATHER of the spouse...so another
generation back! It's great. I KNOW you'll enjoy this site!

The URL below is for a search engine in beta testing that searches all
USGenWeb sites across the USA. Put in your surname of choice and be
surprised at all the hits you get returned!
Have fun!

Sorry, the previous posting for COFFEY/COFFEE from CARRICK ON SUIR should have
listed JAMES COFFEY the father as being born about 1848, not 1868. Obviously
if I put he married in 1966, he must have been born prior to that. Pam

Please refrain from posting prayer requests to this list. There are I am
sure other lists more appropriate for this type of posting.
This list is to discuss, disiminate, request information about members of
the Coffey and related families.
Thank you.

COFFEY/COFFEE from CARRICK-on-SUIR,IRELAND. JOHN COFFEY--feb 1871, emigrated
to USA about 1890 and was "lost". Thought to have gone out west. I would
really like to know what happened to him. MARY COFFEY 30 Nov 1873, emigrated
to NY April 1891 (my PGM). Her two siblings were Alice COFFEY 16 Feb 1867 and
Catherine COFFEY 30 Dec 1868. Catherine, known as Kate, came to NY for awhile
and then returned to Ireland. Their father: James Coffee (about 1868 in
Ireland) married Honor Fitzgerald in 1866. His father was thought to be
Denis COFFEE from Carrickbeg near Carrick. Does anyone have any connections???

I thought that you would enjoy the following solution to the Y2K
problem. I think it would work!

Memo to All Personnel:
Corporate has defined a lower cost alternative to Windows 98 and NT
conversions that also addresses the Y2K (Year 2000) issue. The goal is
remove all computers from the desktop by January 1, 1999.
Instead, everyone will be provided with an Etch-A-Sketch.
There are many sound reasons for doing this:
1. No Y2K problems.
2. No technical glitches keeping work from being done.
3. No more wasted time reading and writing e-mails.

All are worthy of Gods Grace, It is the direction of our steps that determine our
destiny.
"God So loved the World he gave His only Son that all who believe on him would
have ever lasting life." (Belief sometime is not enough.) " Man shall not live by
bread alone but by every Word that proceeds the mouth of our Lord". Believing in
God is the first step in the direction of Glory, Living by His Word is the key to
Heavens gate, to the eternal promise of God. All things are possible through God.
Healing is by Faith and trust in Gods Word.

Eli Fields at the time of this writing was twenty four years old
Harrison Jones was 28 Tom Pendley was 29
Of those who stood trial, most received lengthy prison sentences ;
However many Like Eli Fields were released early. Eli Fields married
Rachel Wigington on September 28, 1899. They later lived at the foot of
Hendrix Mountain in today's Bent Tree community where they farmed about
100 acres, harvested timber and made fiery Whiskey and Brandy.
Old Jack Landsdown received a life sentence foe his leadership role in
the Ledford arson. He was killed in an escape attempt on June 21, 1891,
at Georgia's Dade County Coal Mine N0#1. Seaborn Landsdown also escaped,
but was recaptured the same day. He was ultimately released and moved
his family to the Western Territory where he live Quietly and Peaceably.
Harrison Jones came down with the measles and died because he was forced
back to work to soon. He died in June 1891 He had just turned thirty
(30).
I guess the coal mine was in Dade County Georgia.. PLEASE keep me
informed.
I hope this helps.
I have a genealogy connection to most of the families named.. Fields,
Coffey, Pendley, and Jones

A large number of Coffee/Coffey family genealogies have been published.
Unfortunately, I have only a very few of them:
The Coffey Family, Edith Whitley, 1952-53, reprinted by Gene Brewington,
1991
The Coffee-Coffey Scrapbook, Volume 1 with index, collected by Gene
Brewington, printed 1992
Coffee - Gilbreath - Turnbow Families by Elmer C. Gilbreath
Coffee - Gilbreath - Turnbow Families by Delma Turnbow Freeman
Both of the above were reprinted by Gene Brewington from microfilm
created by the Genealogical Society of Utah, 1986; original publications
1958, Huntington, Ind.
The Coffey Families by Lyman, Coffee, Lindhorst and Moulder, reprinted
from microfilm at SLC by Gene Brewington, 1992
Descendants of Salathial Coffey by W. T. "Bill and Pearl Dungan, 1961,
reprinted by Gene Brewington, 1991
I believe that Gene has reproduced a number of other Coffee/y documents,
but the ones above are all that I have. In 1992, his address was 4728
NW 59th Terr., Oklahoma City, OK 73122-7512, tp 405-721-1141.
There is also the work on James Blueford Coffey by Marvin D. Coffey,
4771 E. Hillcrest Rd., Medford, OR 97504. This indexed work, and
supplement also includes information on numerous other Coffee/y
families.
Additional Coffee/y help is available at the Coffey Cousins'
Clearinghouse; see URL below.
