Greetings from Bakersfield, CA
My Coffee family came from Ireland, not sure where, do not know the year they came. But the first born in US as far as I know was in or about 1871 William Henry Coffee, born in Waynesboro, Tenn. He died in Evansville, Inddiana.
He and his wife Elizabeth Nazirene Hickman had 6 children, one of which was my grandfather George Washington Coffee born in Rome, Georgia. This part of The coffee's relocated to California area sometime in the early 1930's. In Los Angeles area, and Kern County area, Taft and Bakersfield, CA

I really don't know anything about looking up family history. I am very interested in it though. My husband's name is Timothy Coffee, his father is David, and his grandfather was William Harvey Coffee. His grandfather I believe was orginally from Arkansas. Anyway my biggest question is what kind of last name is Coffee. Example Irish, German, etc... If you have any info for me I would appreciate it. Thank you :)

Tara, In answer to your question, my great, great, grand mother Ellen
Coffee, according to the US Census was born in the Irish Free State, AKA the
Republic of Ireland in 1845 and was living in New Jersey in 1870. I would
assume the name is Irish.
If anyone has any information on Ellen, I sure would like it. Married to
Martin Joseph STANTON. Nine children.

Greetings from Las Vegas!
My name is Kerry Lee Coffee, and I am originally from a small southern Indiana town called "Johnson". Just curious if we have family in common.
