I would be very interested in this Finley Coffee/Coffey's parents, specifically the father, Jordan Coffee/Coffey. If you have any info on him please contact me. I research Coffeys (Coffee's) and Jordans therefore the use of the name Jordan and from VA makes me curious.

Are you sure that Mary Polly's mother was Nancy Hereford? Could it not have been Nancy Phillips? William Martin was married three times--(1) Elizabeth Bronson abt. 1782, (2) Nancy Phillips 17 Aug 1798, and (3) Nancy Hereford 1 Dec 1817. I have a Mary born 26 Sep 1799 as a child of William and Nancy Phillips. I have no further information on her, but am presuming she must be your 6th great-grandmother. The only thing that does not match is her mother and that may be because the two women had the same first name. Please contact me to exchange information and compare notes.

Jack--
I'm presuming that the information you forwarded was all related to Joel
Saunders and Martha Jane "Patsy" Sealey Coffey--at least that what I think
you were trying to indicate. It's strange that you say they had 6 children
but go on to name a total of 8 in your second paragraph. I also have
information that he was the builder of the Wayne County Courthouse. As far
as where Martha died, I have two different locations--Russell County, KY and
Randolph County, MO--so I'm not sure about that one.
As regards the children named in the will, I'm a little confused. You give
names provided from two different sources but the children's names do not
all agree. See below:
Georgians Genealogies Independent
Cleveland Cleveland
James James
Joel Joel
Nathan Martha
Caty Katie
James (Jane????) Jane
Sealy Celia
I find it strange that all the names do not agree--there are two children
that obviously no one can decided where they were male or female. What is
even weirder is that I have a total of 11 children for this couple and now
I'm not sure who belongs to who and which ones to remove. Perhaps you might
be of some assistance in helping me determine who should be removed and
which parents they actually belong to. Following are the children I have:
1. James
2. Joel, Jr.
3. Cleveland, b. abt 1798, m. Elizabeth (?)
4. Catherine (Caty/Katie), b. abt. 1792
5. Nathaniel, b. 1795, m. (1) Nancy Clark and (2)
Louisa Eliza Durham
6. Alvina (Elvira), b. 6 Dec 1810, m. Martin Wright
7. Mary Caroline, b. 1814, m. (1) Noah Summers and
(2) Edward D. Vest
8. Frances, b. abt. 1823, m. Andrew J. Jones
9. Martha L., b. abt. 1824, m. Perry M. Stacy
10. Henry B. Coffey, b. abt. 1825, m. Sarah A. Isbell
11. Elizabeth, b. abt 1826, m. Burrell Elam
I'm wondering if it's possible that some of these children are Joel and
Martha Sealey Coffey's grandchildren through their son Joel, Jr.?????
Especially since Martha would have been 53 when Alvina (Elvira) was born in
1810, 57 when Mary Caroline was born in 1814, 66 when Frances was born in
1823, 27 when Martha L. was born in 1824, 68 when Henry B. came along in
1825 and 69 when Elizabeth was born in 1826. It is quite obvious to me that
these are not children of Joel Saunders and Martha Jane Sealey but of
another Joel. I'd just like to know which of the Joel's they below to.
It's interesting that you have 22 Joels descended from Edward and Annister
Powell Coffey. I have a total of 31 in my database so far with more to go
(I'm sure). It would be nice if we could put middle names on a number of
them just so it's possible to distinguish who they are.
Eagerly await your reply.

Am searching for information regarding the true parentage of Lavina COFFEY, b. 1804 in Pike County, IL, married to Simeon Frost COOMBS, b. 1802 in Jessamine County, VA, on May 22, 1823, in Adair County, KY. Know her father was a Joel COFFEY, but need to determine which Joel Coffey. I have always seen her parents as Joel Saunders and Martha Jane "Patsy" Sealey COFFEY (son of James Edwin Bluford and Elizabeth Cleveland COFFEY). However, recently another researcher contacted me and indicated that he was of the opinion that her parents were Joel and Jane Coffey COFFEY (son of Nebuzaraden and Elizabeth Hayes COFFEY).
Anyone with any definitive information regarding which Joel was her father, please contact me direct at Chickad(a)hotmail.com.

I have a Lucinda Coffee, b. abt. 1858. She was the dau. of Jesse Leonard Coffee and Nancy O. Singleton. She was a sister to my ggrandfather, John E. Coffee. I'm not sure that date is correct on Lucinda, and will have to check other records. Have you checked the 1860 and 1880 census for Rabun Co., GA? I found a Lucinda under "Leonard" Coffee in the 1870 Rabun Co. census, age 12; however, this would be the same one that I mentioned above.

No I am not from Ezell Ky. I was born in Stearns, Ky in 1932. I have been researching my ancestry. My Fathers first wife was Linda Coffee. My Lawson relatives all came from the Clinton County Ky area. I cannot find out where my Father and Linda was married at, Clinton Co., or Cumberland Co., Tenn. You may contact me directly at papalaw1(a)netzero.com if you have any info to share. Thanks
