I am looking for my paternal grandparents. My fathers name was James Robert Coffee II. I was given up for adoption in 1970 in Washington DC. Grandfathers name is James Robert Coffee and grandmother was Maggie Wynn. Thank you.
That ever helpful Pat Calton has 1860 Morgan County, Missouri Census data re former Kentuckians Samuel and Rolla/Rolly COFFEE and their families--including a PHOTO of Rolly Coffee's headstone (27 DEC 1804 to 8 MAR 1873) at one of her websites:
1. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb/com/~pattiejo/morgan/moreau_b.html
and,
2. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~pattiejo/morgan/osage_c.html
3. COFFEE, Rolly tombstone photo from Big Rock Cemetery, Morgan County, Missouri:

With her permission, here are a few COFFEE notes taken from the 1860 Morgan County Census:
MOREAU TOWNSHIP, page 1084 lists:
COFFEE, Samuel, age 22, born in KY, with other COFFEEs in his household, as follows: Harriet age 20 b. MO; James age 1 b. MO; and Joseph age 3 1/2 b. MO.
In a separate household but in the Moreau TWP, is listed a COFFEE, E age 20, born in KY.
OSAGE TOWNSHIP, page 1314 lists:
COFFEE, Rolla, age 57, born in KY, with other COFFEEs in his household, as follows: Alia age 46 b. KY; Jesse age 26 b. KY; Elizabeth age 20 b. KY; Nancy age 17 b. KY; Aletta age 13 b. KY; Ann age 15 b. KY; Nick age 12 b. KY; Nelson age 10 b. KY; Hohn age 8 b. KY; and Martha age 6 b. KY.
NOTE: There is a headstone photo of a Nelson COFFEE "son of R. and A.A." b. 15 JAN 1850 - d. 18 JUN 1866. (Also, I wish to high heaven that the above-named "Hohn" was my elusive John H. Coffee b. in Mount Sterling, Montgomery County KY--but I need more proof...)
Mrs. Calton also has a Morgan County, Missouri marriage database on her website from which I've taken a few COFFEEs to share here:
COFFEE, Aletha married J.W. ARNOLD on 17 JUL 1870 (there is also a tombstone photo re: this Aletha;
COFFEE, Nancy married George CHAPMAN on 18 MAR 1877;
COFFEE, Samuel married Harriett PIERCE on 30 JUL 1857;
COFFEE, John married Nancy JAMES 1 SEPT 1872;
COFFEE, Ann married John P. SULLINS 8 FEB 1882; and
COFFEE, Lizzie married Jerome J. PAGE on 26 APR 1897.
I'm particularly interested in the above John Coffee and Lizzie Coffee, if someone cares to compare notes.
And thanks again, Pat, for all your time in preserving this data online!

Disregard misinformation of my previous message re Hill Bryan Coffee. I know of the HB b 1827; however, I'm looking for doc. on his nephew, HB.
Pressing on!
