Dear Betty:
Thank you so much for the information. I believe that I have also proven Jesse's war service through the pension records from the national archives but am waiting for the physical documentation. Delighted that you were able to prove it through DAR.
You are correct that there are errors in George's book. One is an error of omission in that it does not show a line for John (at least that I can find), son of Jesse. Fact is John was married to a woman named Nancy Womble. There is documentation of this and it lists their offspring but there is also an error there as it does not list John R in some cases. But in many other cases it shows John R as the fourth son and I am of that line. John R married Mildred Hartson (sp). The 1850 N.C. census shows both John and some of his children as well as John R and his children. John had remarried (I suppose Nancy had passed away). I also have a copy from the Holleman family bible started by John R. One of John R's son, William Henry was my g grandfather, my grandfater was Thomas Clinton and my dad was William David. Up to this point I have not run on to anyone doing research in my line, that is, from John R. Again thanks for sharing the information with me. Please keep in to!
uch.

Yes, I am aware of the Holleman book and the fact that Jesse is shown as a Revolutionary soldier. However, I never could find a record of this service until I decided to prove it for membership in the DAR. I proved Jesse as a patriot and as a new soldier. There are several obvious errors in the Holleman book and I have been able to prove our lineage through Jesse to the present.
Let me know exactly what you are looking for on Jesse, etc. I would also like to know your descent from Jesse.
Thanks.
Betty

David,
How are you related to John Holleman son of Jesse Holleman? You asked for a copy of Thomas' will. You do know that Jesse descends from John who was the son of Christopher C. According to my records, it goes like this:
Christopher Sr., Christopher Jr., John, Jesse, John and then I descend through Jeremiah. I will be happy to send a copy of any will you need, but I want to make certain I send what you are looking for.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Betty

The book of Hollyman references Jesse as being a soldier in the american revolution. Are you aware of this and do you have any supporting documentation?
Thanks,
