Nice to hear from a cousin. The first Zollicoffer came to New Bern, N.C. from Switzerland in the 1700's. The story goes that when they came here, they gave up the right to inherit the castle and lands at home. I had met a lady in the 1980's who said she was also descended from this family and that on a trip to Europe had tea with the family. Just an interesting side line, one of my grandfather's uncles was named Zoll E. Cofer. He lived near Athens, Georgia. We are descended from Simeon B. Cofer (Coffer) from Virginia to NC to Tenn. to Jackson County, Georgia 1821.
