Thank you James...not sure what happened or what I did with a reply from you. Good luck on finding info on those 109 great grandkids, whew, that should keep you busy for a year or so.
I will have to crack through the brick wall on my COIN / COEN's ancestral line in order to know if my line connects to yours. As more and more archives are added online, and more researchers create trees, something may turn up.
My favorite method working on a brick wall is to 'go in the back door' so to speak, by being sure I've followed the female and male marriages of children on back ...and that sometimes leads to a Tree and research (Ancestry.com 'hints') on a branch that (sometimes) leads back to a common line of mine. Sometimes those branches are hard to find just by following your own direct line.
If you and your wife have ancestors that were in MO, AR and TN you may find the same situation my spouse and I have, in that we have common cousin matches. I know that in the end we all are cousins, but in our case ...and no doubt the same with other couples...the families migrating together or along similar routes really mixed it up and have created closer cousin kinships than I would have expected for me and my spouse.
Back to work....I'm betting our COEN line has a connection, but it may be hard to find.
Thanks again...Audrey

Yes. I am still using the excite.com email address.
I replied to your e-mail dated 8-19-2012.
There were an abundance of Coen's in MO.
This was my reply to your e-mail, in case you did not get it.
Hi, My names is James Coen. I am Logan's father. We used his DNA to match both sides of the family.
I do not see Mrs. Whittens connection in FTDNA.
But, if she is Logan's 5th cousin, then they would have a GGGGGrandparent in common. I will give you what I have.
Abaslom Coen-Born 26 Mar 1790 Harford County, Maryland-Died 28 Apr 1848 Reddington, Jackson Co., Indiana.
Jane Wilkenson-Born 13 mar 1794 Virginia-Died 11 Apr 1856 Reddington, Jackson Co., Indiana
John Watt-Born 24 Aug 1782, Bucks Co., Pennsylvania-Died 08 Fef 1854, Warren County, Kentucky
Elizabeth Lowden-Born 31 Jan 1788, Maryland-Died 18 Feb 1862 Warren County, Kentucky
At this time, this is all I have.
There were a lot of Coen's in Missouri so there is a possible connection, but I have not done much on that line yet.
Still trying to connect to the 109 GreatGrand Kids my GreatGrandfather Samuel Coen had according to his obit.
My wife and I both have ancestors from TN, AR, and MO.
If I find something I will let you know.
Thanks.
James Coen.

James...are you still using the same 'excite' email address? and/or still active on this board?
I emailed you recently regarding my mother's FFinder and you and your COEN line. Mother, b 1920 AR, to a WASHBURN father b 1897 St Louis MO, born to Robert E. WASHBURN b 1864 Christian Co MO to a Union soldier Seth Emory WASHBURN (b NY, lived in IL) and Louisa "Lula" Jane COIN / COEN / COWAN while she was still married to James BOLIN / BOLEN.
Her father was James COIN, a wagon maker and blacksmith well known in that area of MO in and near Christian Co and Greene Co MO. James COIN is said to have been born in Hawkins Co (perhaps Grainger Co) TN and had more than one wife. Hannah "Nancy" SPENCER is the mother of Louisa Jane COIN. I have some more info...would like to compare and discuss genealogies because you are showing a 5th to distant kinship to my mother.
I should tell you that Mother's lines are old on paternal and also maternal lines...(and I've DNA tested where I can) and so are my husband's whom I have Y-DNA tested, as well as FFinder. (I've also tested his BROCK line).
Mother and my STANALAND spouse are showing multiple common cousin matches in a close to distant range. Their own kinship to each other is a bit too distant to show up on Family Finder...but their common matches are 2nd to 4th, and 5th to distant.
I do have a public tree on Ancestry...titled STANALAND and WILLIAMS (WILMS) ROOTS
