I've never heard of the book, but would be very interested in finding a copy of it also. Coen is one of the lines I'm researching.

I am searching for anyone who has, or knows of anyplace that has the book titled "Coen: Six Generations in America" by R.N. Coen.
I found where one was supposed to have been donated to the Cincinnati Historical Society library in 1984, but they have no record of it. This book was mentioned in the 'printed works' section of "Annual Report 1984." Queen City Heritage 42 (Winter 1984): page 101.
If you know of this book, I would very much like to hear from you.
Thanks!

Seeking information on James J. Coen of Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.
-Immigrated from Westport, Co. Mayo, Ireland BEFORE 1857
-Worked as a Marble Cutter in Cincinnati.
-Served as Sergeant in the 61st Ohio Infantry during the Civil War
-Married Louisa T. Marks McConnel (McConnel was her first married name) in Cincinnati in 1866.
-Had 3 children - Emma (b. 1869), Elizabeth (b. 1873) and Peter (b. 1874).
-James died in February of 1872. Burial location is unknown.
-Father's name may have been John - no proof of connection other than proximity and scarcity of name.
If anyone has any information on this family (I know there are other descendants with this name still living in the area) I would love to hear from you. I have quite a bit of information to share, as well as many questions.
Thanks!
~Justin

Catherine McNulty Morrissey (maiden name is not proven but from our family
"bible") is born c1841 (1870 census-Maplegrove WI) born in Ireland.
Parents: Mr & Mrs. McNulty are from Ireland, and siblings unknown.
Immigration is unknown and hard to find due to spelling of Catharine and
unknown names of parents. Immigrtation must be between 1841 and 1864.
Her husband John Morrissey (MANY varriations on name spelling found) was
born in New York c. 1832. Marriage date and place is unknown. His parents and
siblings are unknown. No other husbands or military service for Catherine is
known. 1870 and 1880 census shows John's occupation is grocer.
She has a daughter, Mary Margaret, in New Orleans c1864, and a son Thomas E.
in 1866 (1870 and 1880 census). "Margaret" later marries Patrik COHEN (many
name variations) about 1883 in Maplegrove. They have 9 known children. One of
which is my Great Grandfather. Information on Cohen children is available.
Between 1866 and 1868 there seems to be a move from Louisana to Wisconsin -
Maplegrove in Manitowoc county. Date and reason unknown.
1870 census shows a son William born in Wisconsin, c1868, not shown on 1880
census. No more information is available.
1880 census shows 2 strange events - Catherine is no longer married to John,
but he has a wife named Mary born c1854, (compared to Catherine c 1841) and
there is an Ellen listed as daughter born in Wisconsin (I do not believe they
(John & Catherine) were here at this time in history) c 1856.
*** Would John have married Mary and taken her sister-2 years younger, as
his daughter?
Catherine quite possibly died in Maplegrove between 1870 and 1880 ( about
30-40 years old). Her husband died 1884 and is burried in St Patrick's cemetery
in Maplegrove, but there is no sign of Catherine - where could she be?
I have contacted an angelic researcher who will try to find the death cert
for John Morrissey in Manitowoc Library on MicroFische. I hope to uncover some
type of clue with this knowledge. John Morrissey died 14 Jan 1884 (v3 p227)
- Library Microfiche.
