Kevin, thanks for your input...I believe Batty-Bartley, and Bartholomew are one in the same, as greatgrandfather Bartholomew COEN was called by all those names.
I will keep looking for the QUINN connection to my COENS. my Dad thought possibly our COEN md. a QUINN in New York. Our Coen was born in either Co. Mayo or Bunnanaddan Co. Sligo.Would be great if our QUINNS/COENS were the same.
Regards,
Kitty COEN GLOYNE

I found the connection to Quinn quite interesting. I have been looking into the Kyne family--and learned this name sometimes took on many different spellings--Coyne, Coen, Cone, etc. The spelling varied between brothers and sisters. My Quinn's connect with my GrGrandmother--Catherine Quinn who married a Carr. Her mother was a Kitty Kyne (Coyne, Coen, etc). In looking at Ellis Island I noted a gr aunt listed an Ellen Cone, in Baltimore Md as the relative she was going to visit. I presume this Cone is from the Kyne family. The name Bartley was quite common amongst Catherine Quinn's family--I wonder if Batty and Bartley are the same name. The Quinn's settled in NYC and Boston. My aunt's godfather was an Edward (?) Quinn, cousin to my grandfather.
Just thought I would give it a try.
