I saw your post and years of research regarding the Coe family. I am trying to locate historical or current relatives of my friend who was adopted after parents deceased. We know that his parents were Jonathan Coe and Julie Sandusky (common law), both possibly born in Georgia in the 1940's and they died in New Jersey in the 1970's. Jonathan's father was Joshua Coe, from Georgia, possibly Alpharetta area or southern/western Georgia. Its possible the Sandusky family was from the Savannah area. There is a story that a gentleman from Scotland by name Coe immigrated to the USA pre- 1900 (possibly as early as 1600's) and married a black woman in the southern states region. This would have been an early ancestor of Jonathan's family.
Any assistance or direction in this search would be very appreciated. Thanks. Kimi
