Myrna,
I was delighted to find your request for information on Samuel and Louisa (Shelton) Coe of Wayne County, KY. Below is a bio from page 1197 of the book "The Coe Families of Maryland and Virginia" (Columbus, OH: 2002):
SAMUEL W.3 COE (Samuel2 (2), Joshua1) was born in September 1833 in Wayne County, KY. He later moved to Russell County, KY, where he was apparently a farmer. Beginning in 1863 his name appears on the rolls of the Russell County Militia and is listed every year through 1866, including an attached note stating that he and his brother James attended the battalion muster, Saturday, June 4, 1866, under Captain Edmund Cook of Company A. He died May 24, 1905.
He married Sarah Louisa Shelton, born August 1, 1844, in Kentucky, died February 14, 1884.
Additionally, you might also be interested to learn that we have DNA tested members of your family. Indications are that your branch of the Coe family originated in Northamptonshire, England. For details, please see: http://blog.myspace.com/carlrcoe
I hope this is helpful.

My paternal grandmother was Ida Lou Coe (married to Hugh Vanus Gossage). She was born in Russell Co KY on May 6, 1874,the daughter of Samuel and Louisa Coe. I cannot locate anything more regarding my Coe ancestry. I noticed that you have relatives in nearby Cumberland Co KY. Do you have any additional information regarding my ancestors?

No he is my Uncle. His sister, Lucille, is my mother (deceased). I recognize two of the pictures. We had copies long ago. The man/soldier to the left at the table is my father, Joe Randle, beside him is my mother, Lucille and next to her is my grandmother and then my Uncle Bob. Wow. I also remember the picture of Uncle Bob and Aunt Dorothy. I recognize Billy, Kathy and Donnie (who's the boy in the middle behind the doll?)
I have fantastic memories of Bonner Springs. I was about 8 when we suddenly moved east. Traumatic. I loved KS.
Where are Kathy and Donnie? Kathy and I played allllll the time on the swing on the back porch - we all threw fallen tomatoes at each other - stepped in cow pies to see if dry (mine never were) popped bubble in the blacktop road with out toes - Wycup's general store - Uncle Bob making bullets on the porch - Shep and Blues (the dogs) yada yada yada - I got a million.
I am at work and gotta run... later...
Peg

wow - way cool! :o) I sent you an email.
I remember what kathy, billy and donnie looked like. We used to have those 8x10 pictures everybody got of their children, also pictures on ponies, I remember. But my mother lost them in a fire and all are gone. I can still see them all in my mind's eye. I can sort of remember Dorothy, too. She was pretty and had dark hair.
I wonder if Billy or Kathy remember the KS neighbor's birthday party and they had goat's milk ice cream? Freaked Golda out!!

I would be delighted to hear from you. Perhaps you could help fill in some of the blanks in your family record.
Please click on the link below my name. It will take you to some Coe family photos.
Thank You,

Popsichel,
If you provide me your E-mail address, I will send you a copy of the death certificate for Augustus Knight and other Knight family information. I have death certificates and/or Baltimore Sun Newspaper death notices for several of Augustus' siblings. I'm happy to see someone else is researching this particular Knight family line.
Thanks.
