Kathy,
Wonderful to hear from you. We need Francis Peter Coe descendants to join

How do you fit into the Francis Peter Coe family?

Carl,
I tried both of the links you sent out in the list. They didn't work. Can
you send a different one?I haven't taken the time to check more into the DNA
stuff. But we are descendants of Francis Peter. So I would like to know
more.
Thanks, Cathy Coe

Linda,
Wonderful to hear from you. And thank you for contacting me about the Coe Family DNA Project. It is one of the most exciting things I’ve done in the 27 years I’ve been researching the Coe family. We have made some amazing discoveries.
I’m am happy that you suggested getting someone from your family to participate. It would be extremely helpful. We have two Francis Peter Coe descendants currently in the project, but neither are descended from your ancestor Pearson Coe. One of the Francis Peter Coe descendant DNA results have posted. No matches yet.
Unfortunately, Y-DNA travels in straight male lines. Your father would have Eastwood Y-DNA. We need male children or grandchildren of his uncle Dewitt Pierson Coe to participate. Are you in contact with any of your Coe cousins? If so, your help in soliciting their participation would be greatly appreciated.
For additional information please see http://blog.myspace.com/carlrcoe.

Hi Carl,
It has been a long time. This is Linda Eastwood from the Carl Eastwood - Virgie Coe - Lloyd Coe - Pierson Coe Jr. - Pierson Coe Sr. - Francis Peter Coe and then ? I've been away for awhile but am back now. My dad is working on his family album and has quite a few photos of the Coes from way back then. Have you found the link before Francis Peter yet? I sure enjoyed the pictures from England you e-mailed me. I think that was the last time we talked. Anyway, I read about your DNA project. That is pretty cool. I will have to see if I can get my dad to participate. Maybe that will solve some of the mystery.

(My second great-grandfather)
From The Seneca (Kansas) Tribune, September 16, 1881, p. 5, column 5:
A HORRIBLE DEATH
Yesterday about noon while Seth Coe was digging sand on Illinois Creek in this county, the bank of sand caved in upon him burying him completely out of sight, and after being dug out he was found to be dead. His son and Mr. Wells were with him at the time, but they escaped all injury. An inquest was held by Coroner Kaysbier yesterday. We are indebted to Frank Greenwood for the particulars.
Hi Carl,
I have just ordered a DNA kit to use on my second
cousin, Martin Coe. He is descended from Matthew,
Thomas, John COE of County Wicklow, Ireland. I'm sure
the Irish Coes were brought in from England to help
settle County Wicklow. They were on the Fitzwilliam
estate.
Thanks,
Mike Brautigan
