In answer to the message below: If you will give me the name of the family you are researching, I shall look at my Benjamin Coe material and see what I can find. In the meantime, here is a little something about Benjamin Coe, son of Benjamin Coe who removed to Long Island where this Benjamin Coe was born about 1660.
Source:Robert Coe, Puritan His ancestors and Descendants
When a boy, he went to Newark with his mother who had married (2) Dea. James Wheeler. On becoming of age in 1723 he inherited half lands of father in Jamaica which were divided on June 19, 1723; he immediately sold his interest and with money on Oct 23, 1723 he bought from John War for #171 an estate of six acres in Newark located on the south side of Court St. and extending from High St. to Washington St. Benjamin Coe was a farmer and tailor; held various town offices in Newark. Of ardent patriotic spirit in Revolution; being too old for militia service he provided as a substitute his slave Cudjo, whom at the close of the war he rewarded with freedom and the use for life of an acre of land. In Nov 1776 in British raid on Newark, troops looted and burned his house, his loss being estimated at # 337-14-4. He removed to Hanover, but at close of war returned to estate in Newark (Source: Robert Coe, Puritan)

Hi,
I have come across references to Benjamin Coe and others having originally
been a member of church on Long Island, and that he and another group left and
settled in the area of Hanover, NJ.
Does anybody know where I can find the names of these other members? I'm not
descended from Benjamin Coe directly, but am researching a related family whom I
believe may have also been on Long Island originally.
Thank You-----

Hi,
I have come across references to Benjamin Coe and others having originally
been a member of church on Long Island, and that he and another group left
and settled in the area of Hanover, NJ.
Does anybody know where I can find the names of these other members? I'm
not descended from Benjamin Coe directly, but am researching a related
family whom I believe may have also been on Long Island originally.
Thank You-----
