I've been hunting for documented information on Rebecca Coe b 8 Nov 1803 in
New Platz, Ulster NY d Galesburg, Ill 3/25/1892. I have info that Alexander COE
b 26 Oct 1771 in Haverstraw(Ramapo) Rockland NY was her father and Elizabeth
DUBOIS b Jan 1782 in New Platz, Ulster NY as her mother. Does anyone have
further documented info on her ancestors? I am also hunting info on her husband
James ROSE or ROOSA b 5/14/18801 NP RDC, d 6/14/1841 Pickaway Co OH .
Another source says he was born in Circleville, OH. so there is conflicting
information.
Rebecca Coe Rose later married Joseph Clearwater.
My Mother's maiden name is Coey. She was born in Pickaway County, Ohio.
Anyone have Coey in that area? Debbie

I am hoping there might be someone out there aware of this family or is researching them. I am descended from the mother, Leola Waller's side. She married William Penn in 1912 and they had one son, James. James was born 7/29/1917 and died March 1, 1998. He was married to Dorothy Coe. I do not konw if James and Dorothy had any children. I do know that James and his parents are all buried at Grandview Cemetery in Maryville, Blount Co., TN.
Leola's parents were: Alonzo L. Waller and Lucy Ann Beirne & William C. parents were Wm. C. Penn and Louise R. Chadwick.
I would love to learn more and am happy to exchange information with anyone that knows of this family.

Looking for information on John Coe. Married Daisy (I don't know how to spell this last name, so I am just going to spell it how it sounds) Shlayhooper (It is German)
They had at least one daughter Ruth Inez Coe, born March 1, 1913
Any information would be helpful
I descend from Deborah Coe daughter of Andrew Coe and Nathan Kniffen. I
believe Andrew is the son of John Coe the Cousin. Is that correct. I have
been trying to figure that out.
Nathan and Andrew were from Rye.

There were two John Coe's. Robert Coe's son John and his cousin, John Coe,
that arrived here shortly after Robert the Puritan. John Coe, the cousin is
about four years older than Robert's son.
Over the years, the two John's have been misidentified.
John Coe, the cousin was the one that went to Rye, New York, and John Coe,
the son is the Captain John Coe.
Also, the widow Hannah Barrett Jenner has been put with Captain John Coe,
and John Coe both.
I descend from John Coe, the cousin, and in the book about Robert Coe the
Puritan published in 1911, it states there had been a mixup with the two
over the years, and they have copies of signatures of both John's, and they
are definiely different.
Does anyone have any information that shows anything more definite.?
I feel that the Captain John Coe as being married to the widow Jenner, is
the son of Robert Coe, and not his cousin John.
