Hi Mr. Coe:
I was scanning the message board this evening and saw your message - what a wonderful and fulfilling trip you must have had. On Dec 22 2001 you were kind enough to respond to my posting about Joseph Chalmers Coe whose sister, Sarah, is President Bush's ancestor. Since they are related to Robert Coe, I would really appreciate having a copy of the photo. If not too much trouble, I would also like copies of the other photos. Would you also clarify for me if Sir John Coe, Timothy Coe, Thomas Coe and Robert Coe are related?
I'd like to thank you for all of the hard work you have done on this line and the generosity you always show when you share information. From my view point, it certainly makes the job as a Coe researcher that much easier when I have credible information to work with. So, Thank you!
Debi Coe

Hi,
Just recently heard on the news that the Governor of New Mexico is conducting a factfinding search into the hisory of Billy the Kid (William Bonney). Since he's documented as being a hired hand and later friend friend of Frank and George Coe (before he became the notorious gunsliinger)--there may be renewed interest in that part of the Coe Family history.
George Coe wrote a book entitled 'Frontier Fighter' and lived to 93. in 1968, Wilbur Coe, Frank Coe's son wrote 'Ranch on the Ruidoso: The Story of a Pioneer Family in New Mexico, 1871-1968" about the whole family and their migration to New Mexico [from West VA, to Missouri, to Lincoln County, NM].
What apparently sparked new interest is a pervasive myth (or truth?) that Billy, (always believed killed at 21 by the hand of Pat Garrett) may have actually lived until the mid-1950s!
I love a good mystery--I'll be rereading the Coe books! My Grandmother, Elsie G. Hall spent her summers as a little girl on her Uncle George Coe's ranch. Since she was born in 1901, I'm guessing this would have been somewhere between 1905-1915. Elsie's Mom and George Coe's wife, Phoebe Brown Coe, were sisters.
There should be new information for all of us to enjoy as a result of this interest at some point!

I since learned that Mary and Alfred were married in Canada in 1876. Alfred's parents were Barnabas and Mary from White Cove, England, while Mary Bunyan was born in Canada (originally her parents John Bunyan and Mary Jane Lane are from Ireland). Mary's siblings are John Jr., Michael, James and Richard.
Looking for someone with connecting information.

I have no definite connection, but it is an interest in your line. My COE ancestor was Ann COE, born somewhere in Essex around 1818 (the time of your ancestors' marriage). I noticed that Richard married a woman called Ann. I know this is a long shot, but could there be a connection? Have you found out anymore over the past year?
Ann COE married Daniel NEWMAN before 1843 (when their son Elijah was born). They lived in Castle Hedingham. Ann died relatively early, as in 1881 census Daniel has remarried to a woman 20 years his junior.
