Sarah,
Click on the links at the bottom of the website. Each link will lead you to a different article on the Coe family. William Oliver Coe and Levin H. Coe were both members of Nancy's family. Please be patient. The pages will take a minute or so to load.
I hope this is helpful.

He later moved to Clayton Township, Cleburne County, AR, where he was living in 1910. Influenced by the teachings of Charles Russell, he was one of the earliest Russellites (now known as Jehovah's Witnesses) in Cleburne County. Burial was at Pearson Cemetery, Pearson, AR.

Sarah,
I was delighted to see your request for information on Walter and Nancy L. (Coe) Simmons. Nancy Coe was born in August 1890 in Cleburne County, AR, daughter of Robert Franklin and Dora A. (Garrett) Coe. Her father was one of the earliest Russellites (now known as Jehovah's Witnesses) of Cleburne County. Nancy later moved to Salida, CA. She and Walter had at least seven children: Edith, Willie, Emmitt, Henry, Geneva, Charles Deward, and Dick.
You might be interested to learn that a cousin of Nancy's father, Gen. Levin H. Coe, was nominated for Vice President of the United States in 1848.
A complete history of Nancy's family is presented in the book "The Coe Families of Maryland and Virginia." The book won the 2002 Parker Prize for the best published work on Maryland family history. For additional information, please see http://peggysue5.homestead.com/Coe.html

Harriet married Moses on 2/6/1851 at Enniscorthy, County Wexford, Ireland. Their respective fathers were Richard Coe and John Murphy. One of the witnesses was Catherine Coe. Now I don't know how Catherine is related to Harriet, they could be sisters or even cousins, I just don't know. So if you have any information on this couple, I would love to hear from you.

Don,
I was delighted to find your request for information on Sarah or Sarah Belle Coe. I have posted below information on George Parker Coe and his family from page 425 of the book “The Coe Families of Maryland and Virginia.”
You will note that I do not list a daughter Sarah or Sarah Belle. Unfortunately, I do not have access to the 1870 Hamilton County, OH, census. She is not listed in the 1860 census of Brown County, OH, or the 1880 census of Marion County, IL.
You are no doubt aware that George Parker Coe’s cousin Hezekiah Coe was sheriff of Macon County, IL, during the time in question. Cousin Francis Marion Coe was married in Macon County, Nov. 16, 1887, to Sarah (Sidner) Sharp. I see Belle Coe was married Nov. 23, 1885, to William Hamer. Ebenezer Coe married Dec. 13, 1870, in Macon County, Harriet Lanham. Sarah Coe married Dec. 24, 1874, in Macon County, Alfred Haywood. Rachel Coe married Nov. 19, 1876, in Macon County, Scott Gruden. Mary Catherine Coe married April 5, 1866, in Macon County, William Shirey. Mary Catherine, Rachel and Sarah were sisters of the county sheriff, Hezekiah Coe.
All of these Coes descend from Richard Coe, who emigrated from England to Charles County, Maryland, in the 1670s. He served as Charles County Tax Constable from 1708 to 1720. For a complete history of these families, please see http://peggysue5.homestead.com/Coe.html

He married Sarah A. Grant, born 1832 at Georgetown, Brown County, OH, reportedly a cousin of President Ulysses S. Grant.
Children:
i. Susan E., b. 1851 in Wood Co., VA; m. Oct. 21, 1869, in Brown Co., OH, John L. McBeth; lived in Brown Co., OH. Child: Charles P., b. Nov. 9, 1874, in Brown Co., OH.

George P. Coe and wife Sarah appear in the 1870 Hamilton Co. census. Both list their birht's in VA. Also listed are children Luara 16 b. VA, Indiana 11 b. VA, Edward 13 b. VA, Sarah B. 9, b. OH and Pendleton 9/12 b. OH.
George and Sarah appear next in the 1880 Odin, Marion, IL. census with son Pendleton.
Would like info on the children and especially Sarah B. I suspect Sarah is the Belle Coe who appears as a servant in the 1880 Blue Mound, Macon, IL. census.
Belle married a William Hamer in Ducator, Macon, Il in 1885.
Trying to tie all together.

Carl,
Thank you so much for the information. I have been trying to fill in blanks in my family trees. Again I appreciate your help and information. Stewart is my line, but families cross over so many times it helps to have information on the "in-law" side" as they might turn up directly related to you later.
