I am looking for Larry Coe who spoke to my Aunt Betty from California, a few years ago, in researching the Pinkerton's and he told her that he was related to Regina Hamilton, who was married to Isaac Pinkerton. I am still trying to research the information that Regina and my aunt are descendants of Alexander Hamilton. Please contact me at Foflo(a)msn.com

Alfred Coe from England marries Mary Bunyan in Canada. They immigrated to Wisconsin in 1880. One child was born in DePere, Wisconsin. Two or three children were born in Canada. They purchased a farm in 1895 in Bovina County, Wisconsin. I am looking for information about Alfred and Mary while in Canada. Mary's father, John was from Ireland. Mary was born in Canada.

So sorry. My grandmother was Eva Coe Cottrell. Her father was Augusta Coe. Her brother was Ora. Thanks for the response in any case.
There seems to be an abundance of unrelated Coes in Ohio. There are a number of families in Mount Vernon but most came from around Athens.
Good luck.

For some fluke reason I ran across your email. Your grandmother was Eva Coe? Was Coe her married name? or her maiden name. I ask because my gggrandfather Cale-Calvin-Calvery (we have found he has used all names) married Eva Crary.
Cale came from Ohio, Eva as well.
Any relation?

Julia,
I was very interested to see your post on the website. I was especially interested to read that you had information put together for you on the Coes of Essex.
My ancestor Timothy Coe was born in England in 1631. He immigrated to Northampton County, Virginia, in 1652 at the age of 21. In the early 1660s he moved up the Virginia peninsula to Accomack County where he established a plantation known as "Coe's Out Neck." The 1705 tax list of the area shows the family with 5,000 acres of land. Timothy's descendant General Levin H. Coe was nominated for Vice President of the United States in 1848.
I have hired genealogists to try to find Timothy's family in England without success. They are always quick to take my money but reticent with any discoveries on the family there. It is almost certain that Timothy was from East Anglia where the Coe family has been seated from the twelveth century. Many of the Coes lived in the area of Boxford, Suffolk, and Gestingthorpe, Essex, at the time of Timothy's birth.
Would you have any suggestions or know of how I might discover more on my English Coe ancestors?
Thank you for your consideration.

Dear Judith-
I was interested as I read your response regarding Vernard Coe. I have quite a bit of information(including the Coe family bible with numerous dates of marriage, birth and death for various members of the coe family.) I believe you are married to greg-who is my first cousin. I am one of two sons of Robert H. Coe. My brother is David Allen Coe. My full name is Dennis Robert Coe.
I'm not sure whether or not they have been in touch with Greg.Gene Coe is in critical condition in Seattle with an infection they are unable to locate the source of.His hospital can be reached at (206) 320 1221. I may be reached at 310-377-0708.

Ps. The reason I happened to go to this website was accidential. My family was on vacation in Alaska last week, My son, Whitney, and I went Kyaking and the guide was a nice 25 year old man named Daniel Coe from northern Ohio. His grandfather was Benjamin Franklin Coe. I tried to go through the material I have but was unable to make the connection-then I saw your response. would like to get in touch with you.

while looking thru the census for my greatgrandmother i came across Coes that would fit the profile perfectly. !920 census, Orange County, Newburgh, Ny. George(44) Nettie(47) Mabel(16) Lester(18) and another son (11). I was told my ggrandparents were Eugene Coe and Sara Terwilliger but I am wondering if this could be wrong since the info I found matches time and area and Mabel Coe. Mabels name was Mabel-Coe-Winfield-Brannen. If anyone can help me it would be appreciated.
