Jim that is completely correct. My grandmother was Florence Flowers. I am trying to reach some of the distant relatives to trade information with. I have been researching Florence's husbands side, Flowers, for the past year. I have decided to update her side now. I would love to talk to some of my dad's cousins but I have no idea how to reach any of them. Any help would be greatfully appreciated.

Her father was James Pegan, her uncle was Cecil Pegan, and her aunts were Pauline Oswald, and Florence Flowers (from Ohio) Contact Ann Miller Carr, she has done a great deal of research on the Pegan line and sent me some information regarding Harrison Pegan. That information will tie into the information you have. I have information regarding our line to present if you are interested.

Ok here goes my family line that I have so far. My grandmother recieved this letter in the mail about 1957 from a man in Chicago, IL. Elijah & Ann Smallwood Coe, their seventh child was John Coe who married 2 women, first one unknown, second one was Rachel Ammerman. John's children were Peter, Elijah, Cynthia,Mary, Robert, Francis and John. First six born in Loudoun Cty, VA. Last two born in Union & Howard Cty, IN. My grandmother only recieved limited pages in this family history. I was hoping someone could help me fill in the rest. My grandmother was Florence Willodean Pegan, she married John Flowers. Florence's parents were Jesse & Elva Keith Pegan. Elva Coe Keith's parents were James & Ida Coe Keith. Ida and James were married Dec 21, 1881 in Decatur Cty, IN. Jesse & Elva were married May 24, 1911 in Wabash Cty, IN. If you have any of this information in your book, please let me know. I would love to know how I can get a book of the entire history of the Coe!
's family. I would like to also fill in the gaps after 1957 for my aunts and uncles. Thanks in advance.

Is Susannah Coe Alling who married John Alling the daughter of Robert Coe Jr and the granddaughter of Robert Coe Sr?
I read on the message board about the Coes being traced back to Sir John Coe who was born around 1340. Is Susannah Coe Alling a known descendant of Sir John Coe?
I received an email last Fall with info that my gggrandfather, Adam Vincent
Coe, was a German immigrant, living in Nashville, TN in 1850 census and that
he probably changed his name, as COE is English, not German. My question:
What German surname would be translated and/or shortened to COE? Any ideas,
anyone?
He owned a slaughterhouse, first in Nashville, and was successful enough that
he helped start St. Cecilia's Roman Catholic School for Young Girls and had 4
daughters who became nuns and are buried there. Brought "Adam Coe's
Christmas Beef" (locally known as spiced round) to the Nashville area.
Any additional info is greatly appreciated.
