Hi again Carl,
It's good to see that you are once again posting to the list. As
usual I have to inquire as to the status of 'The Book' , I'm patiently
waiting for a line from you when, where and of course ,how much? The last
item 'How Much' is not crucial, I really want to secure a copy!
Sorry, we didn't make it back to Kentucky nor to Ohio this year.
Between my work at Greenfield Village and my wifes working the year has
just flown by.
After 13 years of retirement, we look back and wonder when we ever
found the time to earn a living and raise our family, we sure don't seem to
have much loose time theses days.
I have had contacts with my maternal ancestry through several
relations in Canada and have traced Mothers paternal line Back to Yeovil,
England and have a niece who is tracing the Leeper and Vock (my wifes
lineage back to Germany). I've got more data than I know what to do with
but continue to plug along.
Thanks for the invite and Shirley and I will definitely try to meet
with you when we are next in Marysville, probably Spring 2001.
Take care,
George

Ken,
Orson Edward Coe was born in 1904 in Oakland County, MI, son of Edward L.
and Effie May (Lincoln) Coe. He married (1) August 16, 1930, in Oakland
County, Edith L. Coryell, born 1910.
A preeminent figure in Grand Rapids, one is greeted upon entering the city
with large billboards and signs announcing the approaching popular Orson
Coe auto dealerships.
The Coe families of Oakland County, MI, descend from John Coe who
immigrated in 1640 from County Suffolk, England, to Stamford, CT. An
exception was Oakland County Tax Assessor Alexander Benson Coe, Jr., who
was born April 21, 1847, in Baltimore, MD, son of Baltimore Clerk of Courts
Alexander Benson Coe and Margaret Ellen Thompson. That family was
descended from Samuel Coe of Calvert County, MD. However, Alexander Benson
Coe's son Charles Eugene Coe, born October 18, 1879, in Oakland County,
married November 26, 1902, in Oakland County, Eloise Edith Coe, born July
30, 1880, daughter of George Carson and Lovina (Orr) Coe of the other Coe
family.
Please see my posting in GenForum for information on Richard Elrich Coe and
his work on the descendants of John Coe of Stamford, CT.
