Hi Pat, It's been awhile since we corresponded, and I've been meaning to respond to this message for some time. As mentioned in an earlier email, I have a John Cody and wife (whose name I believe is Mary) and one child arriving in Prince Edward Island, Canada, around 1833, but they do not show up in the 1841 PEI census. They arrived on the same ship with another John Cody, a William Cody and my great-great-grandfather Laurence Cody (b. 1815). John, William and Laurence settled in the same area in PEI. In your message you mention that your John Cody's parents were Laurence and Julia. My g-g-grandfather Laurence Cody's (m. Anne Clanse) children, in birth order, are; Mary, James, John, Elizabeth, Julia and Daniel (twins), Edward, Hannah, Ellen, and Henry and William (twins). I like to think it is more than a coincidence that my Laurence's children include the names Mary, John and especially Julia, and that he was born in 1815 in County Kilkenny. I believe your John is the same John that arrived in PEI with a wife and child, and that they left PEI sometime before 1841 - possibly for New Jersey. I will keep looking, All the best, Jim Coady

I am looking for information on John Cody and his siblings. He was born
circa 1810 in Ireland possibly in Kilkenny. He married Mary Morris also
from Kilkenny, Ireland. John settled in Paterson, New Jersey and is buried
in Totowa New Jersey. On his tombstone he states he and his wife were
natives of Kilkenny, Parish of St. Canice, Ireland. It was stated on his
death certificate that his parents were Laurence and Julia Cody.
