He was also my g-grandfather via my grandfather George Walter Cody. Of course makes us cousins, lol. Do you live in the Carolinas? My father Jerry Lee Cody joined the military so we never lived by any of the family.

In case you haven't found out yet...Parents of George Washington Cody were -to my best research - Thomas J. Cody and Telithia Jane Foster. Not sure on Telithia spelling. They were from Madison Cty, NC.
George Washington Cody was my G- grandfather via Lona Mae Cody m. Ossie Vinesett.
How do you tie in?

My mother was a Cody and she said her father said he was Black Dutch. I asked a Dutchman what that meant. He said it just meant he was protestant.

I am trying to find out the parents are of William Cody who married Cena Wright in Warren Co., GA on 24 Feb 1826. His wife Cena appears on the 1840 Census in Lowndes Co., AL and the household contains only females. I assume he died sometime between 1834, when the youngest child that I know of was born, and 1840 in Alabama. Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

I have information on a Redmond Archdeacon b. 1621 who was deprived of hIs lands in County Kilkenny by the Parliamentary forces and sent across the Shannon to Clontuskert in East Galway. He arrived in that parish on St. Stephen's day with his young wife, Rose, and settled on an estate of 827 acres in the town land of Crossconnell. There is no trace of the Archdeacon name in Clontuskert parish after the early 1800s. At the moment, I am trying to find if there are Archdeacon descendants anywhere in the world.

Does anyone know about the Cody, might be spelled Coady,
family that came to Newfoundland from Carrick in the late 1700's?

I have a deadend in my tree. James Adams is married to Martha Cody and it's her 2nd marriage. She has two children from her first marriage, Laura May (1877) and Maud Cody (1879).
I know she was born in Missouri, but I'm not sure I have the correct date or ancestry tree for her. It could be 1850 or Jul 1851.
I'm thinking that someone out there has a deadend going in the other direction where Martha (with multiple siblings) gets married and disappears. Sound familiar?

I have done more research, thou I still havent found the connection to William Cody my grandmother (dorothy Casler) told me about. I now know that I have relatives by the name of ester gibson whos parents were matthew and Elize Gamble Gibson from Canada and Eliza parents were James and Margaret Reavler Gamble from Irland in the early 18oo's. I did find the family that were the 1st white family to peremently settle in MICHAGAN (not Minn. like i thought!). My grandmothers mother was Mollie Klinger possible a daughter of ann rummel and a possible sister of edna rummel. Does anywho know if this info might somehow connect to William Cody?

Have you considered contacting the Cody Family Association to find out if you are connected? Send your inquiry to http://www.cody-family.org.
My husband is a Cody descendent and I have been researching the Philip Cody line. Please feel free to connect with my public tree and see my blog post about Helen Wetmore's geneology claim at http://unconventionalmummy.blogspot.com/2012/01/historical-sleuthing.html
