I am also a decendent of Buffalo Bill Cody. My great grandmother was his cousin, Johanna Cody who married into the Creagh family. I don't have mush information as to how they were related as cousins. I'm also looking but it's also very interesting to meet other cousins as well!

Thank you for providing this obituary, for it with the community of sharing, and folks of diligence such as yourself, that reach out to work together.
However, this person headlined in the obit was curiously definitely not related to "Buffalo Bill", and that 'tidbit' is not in any manner factual. [Again, to emphazize: No fault of the well-meaning and blessedly resourceful contributor, to be sure! :) ]
This is simply yet another erroneously-distributed misconception that is, understandably, often perpetuated by the 'oral tradition' of families who share the commonality of a surname.
Extensive research of much labor has been already performed re this family long ago, with source documentation provided of irrefutable proof and the corroborting evidence that not only has been substantiated, but shared and acknowledged.
In brief summary, for example, her mother Mary A. Cody is named in the obit. Mary's father (John) immigrated from Ireland, as Mary's very own obit states - and the family origins are in Kilkenny and Tipperary, not unlike many Cody families in America today. This John Cody married Mary Elizabeth Burr in Ohio, on the record in 1873. Again, this is not comprised of new information - as all long established with many definitive pieces of sources provided with documentation available for the many lines and branches of this family.
We all continue to applaud those responsible researchers who tirelessly keep working together. Nevertheless, it can be a delicate balance to couple the human sensitivity whist maintaining genealogical integrity and reputable accuracy.
Hoping that this posting is helpful, or at least interesting.
In summary, thanking you for all that you do to contribute.

I will be more that happy to talk with you about what I have and don't have. The Jesse Cody that moved to this area from Warren county is hard to trace. We are kind of double kin because of the cody link and the head family. This Head family is impossible to trace.
Send me your phone # or call me at 706 769 5270
I look forward to talking to you
Connie

My great grandmother was Sarah Jane Cody, daughter of Mahalie Head. I live less than 5 miles from the two Cody cemetaries in Warren County. I have pics of both of them. I also have some info from Warren history from the Warrenton library. I would love to share and learn more from your work. I started my quest because it was always said that we were related to William F Cody but I have not been able to make the connection. I do know that he contacted and gave tickets to my family in Atlanta when he did his wild west show at the turn of the century. Look forward to hearing from you.

I have been informed that my GG mother of the surname Dolan was related to William Cody. She lived in Dublin, Ireland and actually starred in the globally renowned film, My Left Foot directed by Jim Sheridan.
I found this info out in a newspaper article which was showed to me recently, article - circa 1989.
I am very keen to look into this but i need to have a few more details no doubt to start the search!
