Five former Columbia Union High School boys boarded the bus here Monday noon on their way to the induction station in Portland, becoming members of the July draft contingent.
Leaving from here were Bill Cody of Lyle, Frank Heyl, Werner Martin, and Dick Hood of White Salmon and James Maupin of Bingen."

I am trying to find a ancestor, Joseph Cody, born about 1908 Manhattan. Hoping if I find info it will tell me about his family.
He was the son of (Mae/May) Mary Dillon and Mr.? Cody. I don't know who the father is. I found Joseph and the remains of the family living on E.69th Street (1910-1920) and on 66th Street (1930). My guess is his father died between Jan 1908-April 1910
the 1910 census gave Joseph's age as 1yr 8 months (20 months). The census was done in April 1910 so I am estimating he was born Aug 1908.
His mother was Mary M. Dillon, b. 1884 in Manhattan, daughter of James P.and Annie Conaty Dillon. No luck on finding James at this time. No clue who he relates to. He died prior to 1900. I found Mary living with mother & sister in 1880 in Peekskill and assuming she married in NYC 1880-1884. According to the census, Mary had 4 children, 2 living as of 1900. They were Mary b. 1884, and Annie b. 1889. A son Thomas J. was b.Jun 1886-d.April 1897. No clue of the 4th child or as to where any are buried. May have to get death cert on Thomas and hoping the death date is correct.. he was not listed on any of the census.
Not able to find Annie Dillon/sister or Annie Conaty Dillon/gm, on 1930 census.. Assuming Annie/sister married..
in 1920, Annie was 30 and single.
Annie Conaty Dillon(GM of JC) was born in Peekskill NY in 1857. She had a sister, Eliza Conaty Mooney, of Peekskill NY, wife of Michael Mooney. Michael's gs was John T. Mooney, a Judge in NJ.
Looking for any leads to a Joseph Cody, James P. Cody or Mary Dillon Cody & Annie Dillon greatly appreicated...
Sheilah

Hello,
I saw your previous thread so I'm pretty confident in the information I found on your family, specifically William W Cody. Of course, census records often have mistakes.
William's father was Thomas Cody, b.1822-1827. His mother was Sarah, haven't found her maiden name yet. She was b. 1837-1840 (different censuses have different years).
