I have recently read an article regarding the codd/cody family, where it described that they originally held Morwell in Cornwall. I have a odo archdeacon (many different derivatives of the surname) here in Morwell, with a brother Michael, a father ? Ralph and a mother ? matilda. Does this ring any bells with anyone. Thanks

Hello,
I am Luckie Daniels & I have posted many times before in regards to finding the Warren County, GA CODY owner of my 4th Grandmother, Catie DICKEY WINGFIELD.
After many years of research I do believe that owner to be Madison Derrelle CODY, the youngest son of Michael CODY & Rebecca ROGERS CODY of Warren Co.
I am now looking for estate papers of Rebecca's, who died in 1851, to confirm ownership of my Grandmother Catie & her Sister, Allie.
Estate records of M.D. CODY would also be of interest.
Thank you,
Luckie.

Hi, Tina,
Wow ! You have been busy - seeing that you posted on over 175 forums (where
you appear to have never once participated in any of those forums, no
less?!) to list all those surname books that this Ancestral Books group is
selling! That's a lot of work - are you a seller, too? I did not know befrore that
we could post marketing items here, but then I am more new and not as
active - so am learning something new all the time! I will see if I can get some
items for sale with some other dealers that could be listed here, and share
the word, since it seems okay to openly do so!
Tina, you mentioned that your research includes this specific CODY family -
so in the spirit of (one) purpose of the forum - wondering how you fit in,
and if there is something you can offer in an exhange of data (or, since
you are still researching - better yet, that we other CODY people could do to
help your own CODY searches)? How can we hlep you? What are your own CODY
roots, and CODY lines? After all, it's always nice to connect with other
family!
And keeping that community of sharing is soooo helpful to all - for one
never knows when another will have something interesting (or the perfect
missing link!) on their own family lines!
Connie

If you know more about this person please reply here instead of contacting me because this is most likely not my family.

Mary, you wrote: "In one of the postings it said that Lewis Cody (son of Elson Bristol Cody) had a brother Charles born in 1851. If this is correct, do you have any other info on him. Any thing you can give me is appreciated.
Thanks, Mary"
The answer to that specific question above is that Charles, son of the aforementioned E.B.Cody, was born in 1850 and died in 1910. He married twice, but his first wife died very young and without issue, so that is of little interest to most. However, then he married again three months later to Ida who became the mother of his many children.
Hopes this helps - at least in the (apparent) process of elimination! Best of luck in your research endeavors - and never stop asking those questions, for one never knows when there is a definite connection waiting! :)

I just came across your posting from 2008. Hoping you can help. My husbands great grandfather was Charles C. Cody.
He married Delilah Jane Meek 26 Oct 1887 in Bastrop Co TX.
They had one child, Clyde Charles Cody b.27 Jul 1889. By 10 Sep 1890, Charles Cody was gone and she married another man. I don't know anything about Charles as I have not been able to find him anywhere. The only clue I have is on the 1900 census that shows Clydes father born in Ind Terr.
Delilah Jane Meek was born in 1858 so I've been looking for a Charles Cody born around that time.
My husbands father was born in 1909 and said he remembered his grandfather and thought he went to Oklahoma. Ever tried to find anyone in OK???
In one of the postings it said that Lewis Cody (son of Elson Bristol Cody) had a brother Charles born in 1851. If this is correct, do you have any other info on him.
Any thing you can give me is appreciated.
Thanks, Mary

Buffalo Bill did have children that lived. And he did have sisters that lived, too. This website has lots of information about the Family of Buffalo Bill. There is a museum and research center of his life.
At the bottom of this page it even shows a couple of genealogy persons to contact and ask questions!

I was told Bill Cody had no children and his siblings did not reach the age to have children so any connection would have come thru Bill's father via one of his brothers. My gggrandmother was a Cody but I too have been having a hard time finding any connection other than the names. There is supposed to be a fellow researcher who has significant information on Bill Cody. If I find him I will certainly pass the info along

My great great grandmother was Celia Ann Cody b. abt 1810 in Tennessee m. William Moody moved to Missouri abt 1844 and later to Texas. I was told she was related as a distant cousin of "Wild Bill Cody". I am unable to substantiate the rumor. I would love to know if anyone has any records or information going further back than the 1850 census. Thanks Maranita
