Actually, Dorothy, if you can trace your husband's Codys back to Ireland, there is a high probability that they are related to Buffalo Bill. The family of William Frederick (Buffalo Bill) Cody (184~-1917) was from County Tipperary, Ireland.
Good luck in your search,
Jim Coady

I think I can safely say that my husband's family are/were not related to BBCody. The names you mentioned in your post are not familar to me. I have tried to do the genology search for my husband's family without much success.
Wish I could help you. Maybe others will see the post and be able to answer questions that we both have about the Cody line.

My husband's grandmother claimed to be a relative of BB Cody. She was born in Feb.1907 and died in Feb. 1994. She was born in Marquette, Michigan and died in Sacramento, CA. I'm trying to do a family tree for my son. I know that you left this e-mail quite some time ago. But have you received any further info? Her name was Fern C. Francis (maiden name of Cody). Her family moved to Klamath Falls, Oregon. She had several brothers who were lumberjacks. She always claimed to be a relative -- I just don't have any further info. We wish we had nailed it down before she passed on.

Hi,
I am a distant cousin of Buffalo Bill Cody through my mom's dad's mom who's maiden name is CODY. We are also registered with the Cody Family Association.
