I don't remember any of the Kirby names, just the little store where the family stopped sometimes. One of my older sisters remembered some, but i can't recall any at the moment. My dad's family lived in the rural area of Union County. Daddy's sisters families were Gradys, Harts, Tuckers, Haydocks, and Smiths. One of my male cousins married into the Jolly family.

Do you have any information about the on the children of William Robert Cody and Elizabeth Lucinda? We believe that they were our great great grandparents. We believe our great grand mother Laura named two of her children after them. Our grandfather was William Robert and his sister was called Cindy.
We know that William Robert died during the Civil war years. We believe that his widow took the children to NC, first somewhere around Bumcombe County and winding up in Madison County. Any information you can provide would be appreciated.

Monica, I'll let you know if I find anything. I have a couple more questions if you don't mind. Did you grow up in Union, and are you kin to the Kirbys that owned the little grocery store on the highway outside of town close to Hebron Babpist?

Monica, My grandparents are also buried in Union SC. They left Madison County NC about 1930. William Robert Cody and Bessie Goforth Cody are buried at Hebron Baptist Church. Their children were Canie, Maggie, Laura, Pearl, James Leonard (My Dad), and Ruth. Grandpaw and Granny were born in 1879. Grandpaw died in Oct. 1963 and Granny died about 1973 or '74.
What were the dates of Robert Henry's and Essie Crow's birth and death? My sister and I are planning to go to the Court House in Union to look up some records soon.

I have a Lloyd Cody in West Virginia before 1950 - father was Charlie Cody - brothers - William McKinley and Mack Cody
LLoyd was born in Madison Co., N.C. Family seemed to lose contact after he moved to W.Va.
William b. 1896 - d1977 - married Sarah Tilson. (of Mars Hill, Madison Co. N.C.) Mack b 1880 died 1959 married Caladonia Hagan
I do not have birth or deaths dates for Lloyd Cody He was probably born about 1893 or 4. Married and moved to West VA. about 1920 or possibly later.
Buffalo Bill's children were:
Arta Lucille b. Dec 1866, Kit Carson, b. 1870, Orra Maude, b. 1872, Irma
Louise, b. Feb 9, 1883.
Buffalo Bill's only son Kit Carson died April 20, 1876 (about 6 years old),
thus all his descendants are through his daughters. I have the
grandchildren's names but, since you seem to be researching Cody, it wouldn't
mean much.
There are no direct descendants of Buffalo Bill with the surname Cody. The
only exception is Kit Carson Cody, his great grandson who was born with the
surname Garlow and changed it to Cody.

I am searching for the names of any and all of Buffalo Bill Cody's children and grandchildren. I have a Danish Remington rifle that is supposed to have belonged to Buffalo Bill. I am only related by marriage but am interested in making some connection between my grandmother through marriage, Emma F. Cox who was married to Jack C. Cody. Jack's father was Jim Cody from North Platte, Nebr., possibly Buffalo Bill's son. Any info on this line would be appreciated.
