I have been told that my relative Mary Ann (Keith) Havens b. Abt 1826 in New York was related to Wm F. Cody. Her parents were Michael Keith and Esther Cody who was supposedly Wm F. Cody's grand aunt. Do you have an Esther in your family file?
I look forward to hearing from you,

I have a nice photo of a large group of men. It is pre-1944 but certainly WWII era. There is a list of names on the back of the photo and the third name on the list is James Cody. I don't know where the photo was taken but the men are all in uniform and there is a flag that says 37B behind them. If you are interested in obtaining a scan of this photo at a very low cost please contact me via email.

My wife's great grandfather's brother was Frank Cody born 1899 in Brooklyn, so your post caught my attention. We know very little about this family. Unfortunately no one seems to remember anything about our Frank being Chief of Police, or even a Police Officer.
I went to the New Rochelle web site and found a link to the Police Dept history. This site states that in 1896 Edward J. Timmons replaced Captain, William Conklin as Captain and commander of the Department. Timmons would command the Department for the next twenty-four years. In 1899 New Rochelle incorporated as a City, and Timmons became the Department's first Chief of Police. Chief Timmons retired in 1920.
The history does not state who took Captain Timmons place when he retired but at least you can narrow the time period to after 1920.
Our Frank Cody died in NJ, 26 March 1983. Frank married late in life and had no children. I can't determine if any of this links or not to your Frank.
How are you connected to Frank?
