Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

Sorry not sure i can help you much. My research on the Codney clan does not extend back beyond my great great grandfather Rueben, who died in 1873 in Randoloph NY. But keep in touch. Maybe we can help each other. My great grandfather was Rueben's son Samuel but he was born around 1870.

I am researching the Codneys in New York also. My line is Samuel Codney, b. abt 1760, of Warren, NY > Daniel Codney / Minerva unknown > Daniel Codney, b. abt 1851, Herkimer, NY / Mary Bloodough. This couple went to Ogle, IL.

Yes, still searching for Rueben. His son Samuel was my great grandfather. He changed name to Coadney. Sam is my brick wall, a real black sheep. I have also a copy of Rueben and Mary Jane's marriage certificate from New Orleans where they married in 1863. Guess we are cousins.
