Just a note to say the coddingtons database was updated 21 Aug. 2004.
Fixed some errors, and reflects all new data from correspondents through that date. Did a fair amount of work on affinal names that frequently intermarried with Woodbridge Coddingtons, e.g. Cutters, Bloomfields, Dunhams, Gardners, Inslees, etc. These folks will be direct line ancestors for many Coddington who descend from John 1677. In many cases, they will be double grandparents, e.g. your nth grandparent through two or more separate lines.

I have haven't heard George's name as George Howard only George Harrison Coddington. He and Mary "Polly" Christy were married in Howard Twp, Wayne Co, Iowa Feb 1878 I wonder if that is where the Howard name came from? Mary "Polly" Christy's father was Edmund Christy brother to Elizabeth Ann Christy my gg grandmother.
Merlyn Coddington of "The Merlyn Coddington Family Tree" also lists George as George Harrison however his lists the marriage as Feb 1878 Wayne Co, IA and doesn't mention Howard Twp.
Cathy of CLM Family History also lists George as George Harrison.
I guess the only way we can know for sure is to get the Cemetery record from Pleasantview Cemetery in Rooks County, KS. Or the Civil War enlistment record from Co B, 18th Reg, MO Infantry Volunteer.

Hi,
Are you sure Polly's husband was named George Harrison and not George Howard? It makes sense, as he had a son George Harrison Jr., but nevertheless my sources said Howard, not Harrison.
