Hi Howard,
yes, I'm starting to think that too .. you know Alfred came back to England
? I think his first Louisa wife died in the States.
What I can't find is Isaac's second marriage (if they did marry) to Ann
SIMMONS .. it's the proof I need that Isaac was David's son.
David was my 2nd great-grand-father and was lived in Bagden. Isaac states on
the 1871 census that he was born in Bagden

How do you descend ? I have a few contacts who are also descended from
Isaac.
Cheers Jane

Dear Jane,
My maternal grandmother's family were called Cockshaw, and I've managed to
trace them back to Isaac Cockshaw, born 1814 in Clayton, Yorkshire. I can
find no death certificate for him, so I presume he might have visited his
son, Alfred, in Pennsylvania, USA, in the early 1880's, and died there.
(Son, Alfred and his family are listed in the US Census, 1880 in Union,
Pennsylvania).
Cheers,
Howard James
